Alcoholist	3.1 Golden Bear Hibernator Winter Ale A friend found this burried in a closet so I can’t be sure of it’s condition : Cloudy and brown with a large head. Aroma is malty and alcohol with some hoppyness. Flavour is malty and mild with a lightly bitter aftertaste. Would’ve liked to have tried it fresh (or better taken care of) Wednesday, March 2, 2005

SledgeJr	3.9 Golden Bear Bohemian Lager In the bottle at the 2004 Crescent Moon Vintage Beer Tasting. This was from the late 80’s and was still fantastic! It was like drinking a homebrew. Big malt flavor and good hop overtones. Sad that this did not make it. Thursday, July 29, 2004
BückDich	3.2 Golden Gate Pale Ale Bottle Conditioned. Light hazy caramel color like a distant sunset into the ocean. Light film of head & lacing. The aroma is malty with caramel/diacetyl and faint hops. The flavor is nutty, briefly sweet with an almost Velveeta fudge finish. Odd. Not too bad though, easy to drink. Reid	2.1 Golden Gate Pale Ale Ok second beer from the now extict brewery..same brown 12 oz bottle. Nice enough appearance for a golden ale..slightly hazy golden beer with a nice sized pure white head. Very "cotton candy" like aroma..lot of sugars it appears this beer hasn't survived as well as the Amber under the harsh gorocery store lights. ..Not good medicinal sugar taste..think this is definatly a dead beer..some faint malt. too sweet on my tongue. Reid	3.9 Golden Gate Amber Ale Its sad this brewery is no more..saw this beer at the cheapo grocery outlet.$2.99 a sixer..thought I would give it a go. Very very attractive looking beer when poured from the brown 12 oz bottle deep red almost garnet colour when held to the light..nice creamy off white head. Desp[ute sitting for at least a month on the floor , unrefridergated of some forlorn grocery store the aroma was very nice mostly malts but no off smells. The tatse also is very nice..fruity and malty..with a semi-dry finish. Very nice feeling in the mouth. A most drinkable Amber..its sad this brewery is defunct..if this is anything to go by they made pretty good beer. Tuesday, November 11, 2003
labattblueleaf	2.7 Golden Gate Amber Ale There's actually a story to this beer when I drank it. Every single sip I took foamed up like a M.F'er. My cheeks almost blew out every time! We had to pour it into a glass over a period of 10 minutes to just to fit it all in due to the head on it. Once we got that stabalized and I was actually able to drink it, the damn thing wound up being surprisingly good. I don't know what the hell the deal was with the constant foaming but I was fairly disgruntled with the fact I almost had to work to drink this. Typical amber without the "turned-up volume". haddon90	3.3 Golden Pacific Half Dome Pale Ale When I think of a Pale Ale, Sierra Nevada is what comes to mind. This is OK compared to that. Nice amber color with a little white head. The aroma had me expecting a lot, but the taste is a bit lacking but not too much. You can clearly taste the hops but it's not as strong as Sierra Nevada. Overall not bad but I'll stick with SN. KingPinHead	3.6 Golden Gate Amber Ale Wonderful full malty aroma with a touch of yeastiness...Color a deep amber with good healthy head...Flavor also features a fairly sweet malt base, but hops are in full support, at least initially. Unfortunately, the finish is relatively tame--the initial robustness fades into a smooth but bland farewell. Still, quite good...I'll certainly give it another hoist in the future. Finishes with a sweet-caramel-malt edge. Some fruity esters, couldn't quite put my finger on (I'd agree with "weeicemon" on the "canned peaches" flavor, now that I think of it).
