Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate Stout
Black with a dark brown head. Aroma is fudge and sweet cinnamon. The cinnamon provides a sweet taste, the Chile provides a very, very slight spicy and they are followed by a chocolate flavor

Copper Kettle Contains Happiness
Very slightly hazy bright golden with a thin rocky white head. Bright floral and lightly grassy/piney hop aroma with a neutral golden malt undertone. Crisp bright flavor that’s lightly golden and modestly bitter with pine and leafy tones. Slightly earthy finish.

Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate Stout
Draft taster. Poured black color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark spicy sweet flavor with a moderate to heavy dark heat sweet finish of medium to long duration. This solid beer met my expectations.

Copper Kettle Swingin' Utters Milk Stout
Black with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is lactose and chocolate malts. Taste is malty and slight lactose. Possibly an old beer. If fresh, it a solid beer with no strong flavors. Found in World of Beer-Fowler.

Copper Kettle / Strangeway Basil Cherry Blonde
On tap at West Main Taproom + Grill (Parker, CO). Pours a cherry amber color with an off white head that is somewhat sparse. Off aroma of dirt and moss. But the aroma, as off putting as it is, doesn't carry into this cherry bomb. Tasty palate of cherries (sweet tart) and orange peel. Very tasty. Well done!

Copper Kettle European Style Pilsner
GABF 2022. Light and fairly dry. This is lightly hopped with dry malt and it is refreshing and easy drinking but doesn't get to the flavor, palate or aroma of quality Czech or German pilsners. enjoyable in its own way but doesn't stand against better examples.

Copper Kettle Elevenses
Imperial pint can. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate, bread, smoke, vanilla, whiskey and oak. Pours black with a thin mocha brown head that has little retention and some lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, bread and vanilla flavors as well as having a medium body and silky smooth mouthfeel. Finishes impeccably smooth with smoke, whiskey and oak flavors. Wonderful!

Smells like a boozy mounds bar. Slightly astringent to the nostrils due to the ABV. Pours a flat black color with no head. Tastes exactly like a mounds bar. Thin palate, long roasty aftertaste. Very good.

Copper Kettle Sobremesa (2016-)
Bottle (2017 vintage) pour courtesy of Adam Chandler--thanks Adam (even if I haven't met you!). It's a deeply hazy light brown (pale cider) with light sparkle, ring of off-white head with no lacing. Aroma is strong lime/tequila, mild malts. Taste is strong green apple, lime, hint of tequila. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, lively carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, perhaps you shouldn't let this sit 5 years! Given that, still fairly drinkable. Well made but not my thing.

650 ml bottle thanks to Adam chandler after it sat at the camp for years. 2017 vintage. Aroma shows Apple and lime. Thin body. For as old as it is it’s not really that bad. Aged to perfection!!

Copper Kettle Sobremesa (2016-)
2017 bottle drunk 7/30/22. Clear, honey-peach. Low head retention on small, white bubbles. Fruity as fuck with lime, vanilla and such. Some honey but quite a bit of lime....peachy-papaya. Limey, apple-papaya. But mostly apple. Like an apple cinnamon cider gone almost bad. Rather light-bodied. Really nothing good going on here. Thanks, Adam!

Copper Kettle DDH Moral Support DIPA
Pint can. Pours a clear copper with a medium sixed sudsy white head that has decent retention. The aroma is strong with grapefruit rind pine resins. The taste however had very little grapefruit, instead there was a big pine presence followed by bitter caramel. The palate was light and crisp. Finished long, dry and piney-bitter. Overall: just a tad disappointed with this one, I suspect this may be an old can. Its more like a barleywined DIPA.

Copper Kettle IPA
Can. pours opaque orang-ish with a massive white head that has fair retention. The aroma is strong with oranges, grapefruit and other mixed tropicals. The taste was well balanced tropical fruits with a pronounced grapefruit bitterness. The palate was full and even. Finished a bit short, but dry and clean. Overall: Decent quaff, better than your average IPA. Fifteen years ago this would have been world class, but alas, time has raised the bar and my expectations. Will likely buy again.

Brilliant clear rich golden with a thick foamy white head. Delicately grassy noble herbal hop aroma with some light cracker malt undertones. Mellow flavor that’s not super crisp, but features a delicate herbal bitterness and mild green hop kiss. Kinda neutral and balanced.

Body is thick and full. 12.3 is not really noticed. Overall, no sticky texture or overly sweet / brownie batter character. Pretty nice!

Aromas of chocolate bourbon oak barrel wood vanilla and roasted malts. Taste is soft silky chocolate coffee espresso vanilla marshmallow macadamia nuts cocoa nibs oak bourbon barrel wood malted barley aged wort syrup and subtle lactose. Overall, very very good. Vanilla isn't so strong on the nose but it hits the palate oh so right. One of the best of the 'Snowed In' series.

Not nearly the amount of lactose I expected...just a bit less milkier Guinness I'd say...finishes with roasted malt but not too bitter ...just enough..solid mouthfeel with light complexity... Had at home after doing a DCT practice session at state park...and pandemic seems to be subsiding with 964k US deaths...oddly DOWN(?!) from last week...must have been revised/corrected number(s) from some state!

Copper Kettle Snowed In - Cherry
Can from Tavour. Pours dark brn/blk with a transient, slight dark tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate covered cherries. Not unlike those wonder things from Trader Joe's, except this has bourbon! Full bodied in a silky/oatie way. Flavor is slightly, slightly tart cherry with dark chocolate, bourbon aspects, and smooth toasted/burnt (not harsh) malt. When I get to Asgard, I'll ask for this!

Copper Kettle Snowed In - Maple
Stovepipe can. Pours nearly pitch black in color and capped by a thin tan and that fades to the body below. The aroma shows notes of dark cocoa, rolled oats, maple syrup, and a touch of vanilla over a dark roasted malt base with soft notes of bourbon soaked oak. The flavor follows with the dark chocolate, vanilla, and light maple up front followed by the earthy roast, old oak, and bourbon with a firm bitterness on the back end. Nearly full bodied and smooth with soft carbonation that leads to a slightly bitter sweet dark cocoa, maple, and bourbon oak on the finish with some lingering dryness and alcohol warmth. This one seems to have faded a bit, but is still pretty solid overall.

Copper Kettle Spooky Hollow
Tall can. Blackish pour with a medium sized khaki head that has good retention. Aroma of pumpkin and pumpkin pie spices. Lots of clove in particular. The taste was strong with coconut, and chocolates. Filling in the back and sides were the pumpkin, cloves, cinnamon and all spice. Rum is any was hardly discernable. The palate was thick, viscous, oily and sometimes greasy. Paired well with some comte cheese. Overall: A bit to spicy to be regarded as anything other than a novelty beer. (a new style?)

19.2 oz can from Tavour, 10/17/21. Dark brown / black color, frothy medium brown head. Nice pie spice mix here is all the classics (cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.). I'm not getting a ton of the room barrel at all, just the pumpkin pie spices, a little caramel, and a bit of roast. Rather sweet, but not cloyingly so. Drinks great, the ABV is completely hidden and it's smooooooth. Touch sticky on the close for sure. It's sweet and quite tasty. I have probably reduced my fall pumpkin beer intake down to low single digits the last 4-5 years, so I'm not quite as burned out on the pie spice beers as I used to be, and I'm wondering if that's leading to me appreciating this one more than expected? Maybe this follows some sort of pumpkin beer marginal utility law? I need a pumpkin beer scholar to weigh in; otherwise, it is hard to say. I can say that I like it. I wrote a surprising amount about this beer, not sure what that says either. 8/4/8/4/17

Shared 19.2 oz. can poured to a small snifter showing a black/brown hue, with some ruby highlighting, a decent layer of off white froth, and ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was roasted, cocoa, fall spices, earthy, almost ripe pumpkin, and lurking rum. Medium+ bodied, with fair carbonation, the taste was somewhat similar notes, with okay alcohol presence, and a dry, baker's chocolate bitterness to the finish. Didn't feel a cohesive flow across the board.

Stovepipe can. Blackish pour with a small beige head. The aroma is strong with Whiskey, caramel, vanilla, toffee and perhaps a trace of maple. The taste very sweet with lots of toffee in the forefront and whiskey, vanilla and maple filling in the back and sides. The palate is thick and viscous. Carbonation is soft. Paired very well with some alpine Emmental cheese. The sharpness of the cheese cut the sweetness nicely. Overall: A tad too sweet for me to make this a regular drink, but I do appreciate it as a well made stout.
