Copper Kettle IPA
12 oz. can. Description on the label, "American IPA with intense pine and citrus hop flavors". Pours a thick, tiny bubbled, well retained, ivory head with moderate lacing, over a clear, dark amber (SRM 12) body........nose is heavy resin, pine, mild floral honey sweet notes, no esters, balance to the hops.......taste is mildly floral honey sweet, with mild bread, biscuit, strong pine, resin, citrus peel from the hops, finishing with strong lingering hop bitterness, balance to the hops......mouth feel, medium body, mild alcohol warmth, moderate carbonation. This is a very typical IPA with hops dominant in both aroma and flavor, except for just enough malt to balance the taste out. The description on the label is quite accurate. The beer might be improved with a bit more complexity in both the malt and hop backbones. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

Copper Kettle Rokaru Japanese Pale Ale
Really cool unusual beer. Definitely had a sake taste with some honey sweetness and smooth body, didn't exactly balance perfect, but points for trying something cool.

Copper Kettle Oak Aged Imperial IPA
Bomber. Oak aroma with citrus and pine resiny hop notes. Pours cloudy, dark golden colored with a large, soapy off white head that has good retention and excellent lacing. Starts oaky and citrus hop flavors. Finishes dry with bitter piney hop flavors that is smoothed only slightly by the barrel aging. Pretty good, but still quite bitter especially for a barrel aged IPA.

Copper Kettle Chocolate Milk Stout
Can. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is chocolate malt. Taste is sweet sour (Can might be bad) with a sour chocolate smoky finish. Not a fan but feel might have got a bad can from a mix a six.

Copper Kettle Swingin’ Utters Milk Stout
12 oz. can. Pours a medium, well retained beige head, over a clear, dark brown (SRM 27) body........nose is cocoa, chocolate, light coffee, mild herbal hops, balance to the malts......taste is lightly sweet, with mild dried fruit tones, primarily plum, raisin, cocoa, chocolate, mild herbal bitter finish, balance to the malts.......mouth feel medium, creamy body, no alcohol, moderate carbonation. This is a pleasant, easy drinking, lightly sweet Stout. The mouth feel, aroma and flavor are all enjoyable, but the later two are a bit on the simple side of the spectrum for this style. Copper Kettle 5th Anniversary Ale
Bomber. Spicy Belgian yeast aroma with brandy, oak and a bit of clove as well as some hops. Pours dark amber colored with a thin off-white head that had decent retention and lacing. Starts with spicy Belgian yeast flavor with a bit of oak and clove mixed in as well. Finishes dry with the brandy flavors, which kind of resemble a white wine vinous flavor, and a touch of hop bitterness at the very end. Pretty good, the flavors balanced out well in this one.

Copper Kettle Le Chapeau
Bomber from the discount shelf. The label says it was brewed in 2013 in batch 1. Bright, cloudy, orangish-yellow color, with a big, bubbly, beige head. Off-dry, with a hint of bitterness and some light, fruity tartness. Light to medium body, velvety, thick, creamy, and luxurious. This is a really nice saison. Seems to have handled the time on the shelf with considerable grace! Nicely dry, effervescent, and aromatic.

Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate Stout
Poured from a large bottle into a pint glass. The beer had wet dark brown-black appearance with a deep ruby hue and a good-sized creamy dark tan head with average retention and cling, but good lacing. Its aroma featured a mix of malty flavors, including chocolate, cocoa, caramel, and bits of pepper and cinnamon. The taste had a smooth wet chocolate flavor with a bit of caramel, that quickly gave way to spice and cinnamon. It was a fairly wet and watery beer with lower carbonation and a lighter mouthfeel.

Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate Stout
650 bottle. Bottle was a gusher. Black with a medium tan head that had somewhat poor retention and soon faded to a fine ring. The aroma was quite pungent with chili peppers and cocoa. Taste mirrored with aroma with chili peppers in the forefront backed by cocoa and dark chocolate. The whole concoction has an underlying lactate sweetness that seems to work rather well here. The palate was medium and appropriate. Finished long with lingering sugars and chili peppers. Overall: Decent.

Copper Kettle Bourbon Barrel Aged Naja Imperial Red

Pours caramel colored with a ruby tinge that has a thin tan head with poor retention and some lacing. Starts its caramel and toffee malt sweetness with notes of bourbon and vanilla. Finishes dry with some pine resiny bitterness that is smoothed out nicely by the oak and bourbon. The barrel aging really improved an already delicious beer.

Copper Kettle Big D.I.P.A.
Hazy deep Amber with a thin sticky light beige head. Amazing sticky and caramelly Oaked aroma with some fresh wood and gorgeous floral resins and a little bitter orange peel. Beautiful oak and bourbon and gentle char on the flavor, lots of caramelly Amber malts and semisweet orange zest, and a stern boozy and bitter floral/grapefruit resin under it. Nice oak and bourbon throughout, remaining gentle while still letting the hops dominate the palate. Lovely flavors.

Copper Kettle Imperial Smoked Porter
Deep dark hazy amber-brown with a persistent, sticky off white head. Nice nose of smoked malt, a gentle hint of pork, smokey chocolate, and a kiss of coffee. Flavor is the same, but a little gentler on the smokiness, decent dark cocoa tones, a bit of coffee, semisweet dark malts, and a gentle caramel finish. Really pleasant. Less smokey than the nose, so it’s basically an imperial porter.

Copper Kettle Kalirado IPA
Clear brilliant golden with a persistent tight foamy white top. The aroma smells like fresh leafy hop cones and fresh orange rind and just a kiss of pine resin. Big bitter and piney resinous dank flavor with a touch of floral acidity and a dry bitter finish, slight touch of copper and caramalt on the finish. Too leafy and piney and bitter, a tad unbalanced for its own good.

Bourbonny aftertaste with a bit of tart lemon citrus.

Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate Stout (Bourbon Barrel - Vanilla Bean)
Bottle at home. Pour is deep brown with a small tan head - seemed to dissipate quickly - decent lacing. Kind of tangy - cinnamon, nutmeg, lightly toasty, semi-sweet, bready, and toffee aroma. Taste is big cinnamon, toffee, bittersweet chocolate, nutmeg, light vanilla, coffee, and toffee with a bit of heat on the backend. Medium body with soft carbonation. I dig the spice level more than the base version, but really wish it had more body.

Copper Kettle Barrel Aged Double IPA (2015)
Tulip at the brewery - dark copper/amber - heavy bourbon, vanilla, and oak on the nose, dampening the base beer (high sweetness, no hop vibrancy), reminding me more of a barley wine, but the coconut and vanilla of the barrel are pretty nice - assertive hoppiness in the flavor, though - at least up front - a lot of citrus and pine - middle brings strong sweetness, bourbon/booze - booziness is particularly pronounced in the finish - tail end is oak and alcohol - strong lingering alcohol flavor - meh.
