Dove Street Thirsty Walker
Cask at the brewpub. Aroma is low key - dark fruit. Clear chestnut. Foamy translucent white head provides 50% coverage. A sour tang. Dark berries and caramel malts. But too much sourness for me. Medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. An ESB that doesn't deivet for me, just doesn't have the right balance.

Dove Street Dove Elder
Handpull cask at the London Tavern, Attleborough. Golden, clear, with a fairly lively if small white head. Enticing scent of elderflower in the aroma. The taste however is not so focused: bittersweet, harsh and more than a bit sulphurous. Light body with good carbonation for a cask beer. Decent if workaday and a a bit imbalanced.

Gravity cask at the at the Bishop’s Stortford Beer Festival 2015, Royal British Legion. Dark reddish brown, translucent, with a beige head. Light aroma of Ovaltine, biscuit, vanilla. Pleasant sweet taste which is tempered by the right amount of barely there-buttering hop. Hints of milk chocolate and malt. Longer finish that you’d expect from such a simple beer. Enjoyable if forgettable mild. Too ’easy drinking’ for my taste.
