Panda from LCB. Clear pale gold with thin white head. Quite a vibrant hoppy aroma with stone fruits, pineapple and a touch of lemon meringue. Taste of apricot, orange, something between kumquat and lemon sour, biscuit, light herbs. Light to medium bodied with an oily slickness, modest carbonation. Looks anaemic and lacks some bitterness and zing to the mouthfeel. Good flavours though.

Tap at the Prague Beer Fest 2024. Slightly hazy brown body, off-white head. Smokey aroma, light smoked plum really. More smokey, smoked plum tastes, caramelly slightly, lightly minerally, sweetish, lightly bitter. Well balanced and tasty!

Tap at the Prague Beer Fest 2024. Full golden body, creamy ivory head. Grainy-malty and slightly herbal aroma. Subtle taste, pleasant earthy Maris Otter-style malty notes, bit grainy, with light citric hoppy touches to round it out. Can't score immensely high, but do I respect it a lot as a whole? I do!

April 2024. Bright bottled by LCB. Pale and zesty - reminds me of a Czech lager, though has ale qualities in the body, and English hops. All in all a drinkable beer. Leans heavily on the hops for flavour and character, but there is enough basic beer left to make this an acceptable and enjoyable drink that I would be reasonably happy to have as a local beer.

On tap at That Beer Place, Chester. Pours almost black with a small tan head. Not much of an aroma – just some hints of roasted malts. Rather watery in the mouth with roasted malts again to the fore, plus hints of coffee. Later on some hints of liquorice, chocolate and oats, plus a little bitterness in the finish. It’s OK, but rather disappointing to say the least.

Poured dark brown body tan lace top. Aroma meaty and malty. Medium sweet to bitter some chocolate and coffee along the way but there are other flavours that make this different -smoked meat, for instance. And a cola tang in the finish. Medium bodied grainy texture average carbonation and that tang in the finish. You would never confuse Sean with Patrick. Maybe Johannes

Pint at Joyce. Pours a deep black with a tan creamy head that's a bit on the thin side. Gentle coffee, toast, nuttiness on the nose. Smooth taste, with medium oaty sweetness, light roast bitterness, and a gentle lactic tang. Medium body, silky carbonation, pleasant creamy mouthfeel. A nice smooth-drinking stout, good example of the style (if not quite a dreamy creamy Beamish).

September 14, 2022 - at Sutton Arms (Clerkenwell) - on handpulll cask. Amber pour, clear, decent off-white head. Aroma is an extra-hoppy ESB - malty, floral but dry. Taste follows - malty, floral, enough bitterness to offset the sweetness (malty old-school "English" IPA). Solid body, astringent, decent cask carbonation, medium-long bitter/mineral non-coating finish. Another terrific drinker.
