cheap	2.5 Ellicottville Strawberry Crunch Bar OK, another bottle from Ellicot, some strange cream ale that should be rated as a pastry. Yea, its a typical golden pale brew fer sher. The nose is beer laced with artificial strawberry olfactories. First taste is a weird strawberry thing, not as cloying as most pastries are, yet it does posses that pastry feel within; fake strawberry and such. It says natural, but I'm just not sure from the palate impressions. I'm fairly sure of what is natural strawberry and what is artificial, just saying. Not too bad, not as cloying as most pastry brews but yes, it is a weird tangent on the cream ale, fer sher. Wednesday, April 10, 2024

jrodooo5	3.1 Ellicottville Sugar Cookie Transparent golden pour w/ a razor thin white head & no lacing. The aroma is faint with some bread & malt notes. jrodooo5	3.4 Ellicottville Blueberry Maple Pancake Pours copper w/ a quickly fading tan head & not much lacing. The aroma opens with a huge burst of blueberry. The flavor however is kind of a jumbled mess w/ the maple completely over riding the blueberry which makes for an odd malty artificial taste. Ok mouthfeel & overall rather disappointing! BillWyce	3.2 Ellicottville Raspberry Beret Can- pours clear orangey-amber with a 1-finger white head. Aroma of raspberry with a mild woody note underneath. Medium-bodied and a bit oily. Bitterbill	3.6 Ellicottville The Herd From Beer Drop, no dating on the can. It pours a pale gold, mostly clear, good long lasting head of foam, good lacing. The smell is grainy, malty, some sweetness, I get a bit of corn, light bitterness. The taste is quite good. Grain, hints of corn, bready malt, mild sweetness, enough hop bitterness to even things out. Good mouthfeel. This is a rather good American Lager. Monday, December 18, 2023

McGarnigle	3.4 Ellicottville Bock The highlight from a mixed 12 of cans. Very attractive (clear copper, nice head) with good aroma. Caramel and toffee sweetness, but not too much. Rich malt. McGarnigle	3.2 Ellicottville Monroe Street Pilsner From a 12-pack variety lagers in cans. Looks the part and has the right carbonation. Has a grain and hay thing going on, and the hops aren't Hallertauer, they are German (Spalt). A bit rougher edged with a less attractive aftertaste. Still, I liked this. It's a legit Euro-pilsner. jgb9348	4 Ellicottville Pineapple Upside Down Shake Ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a fairly thick, three to four centimetre tall tan head that stays afloat nicely. Aroma of bright tropical fruits - pineapple, coconut and guava with a light note of wheat and very soft malts, a hint of 'traditional' hops, but the fruit notes are very strong and very nice! Medium-bodied; Slightly astringent and metallic flavours show at first, then give way to the fruits - pineapple, coconut and some cherry notes are all here, with some light bitterness and soft sweetness, but all fairly crisp with a good balance. Aftertaste shows some light but noticeable grassy and floral hop bitterness with a bit of tropical fruit here, especially coconuts and pineapple, but the balance struck between the hops, malt and fruit-based sugars is almost perfect here. Overall, a nice fruit-based IPA that's easy-drinking, but shows some actual bitterness and fruits without being too sweet, fake or pungent. Slightly surprising here, but a very nice option for the style and great to sample! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from The Beer Cave @ Bob's Sunoco in Callaway, Maryland on 10-May-2022 for US$4,67, canned on 06-April-2022 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 16-June-2022. cheap	2.1 Ellicottville Sugar Cookie Got this for a buck off the bargain shelf! Nice find, if you like pastry stouts. It's a big 16oz pounder can. Why was I expecting a big black pour? Was I thinking pastry stout? Did I already say it? Nose is mild sugar sweet. To call this a blonde or golden is wrong, it is flavored and the only thing common with a hazy blonde is its color. This has to be some kind of white pastry stout? Is there such I think? I think there is white stout and this is pastry, so!!?? Pour is hazy pale and Its taste is sugary, not cloying, but almost annoyingly sweet. Decent co2. Not really my stye but it is well balanced between a sugar cookie and an ale of some sort.
