PhillyBeer2112	4 Coppertail Unholy Belgian Tripel (Trippel) Well I'll be. I tend to avoid belgian styles anymore, as noted in a few previous reviews. I just grew tired of the phenols mostly, and I don't like them. But I've been wanting something different from all the IPA fatigue, and so I decided to go for it. And yet here we have a trippel that has been americanized and has a nice hoppy character but thankfully not to IPA levels. And the Belgian yeast is mild here. There are very faint phenols, a little peppery spice, bready and doughy malt flavors, but then nice floral hops that also hint just a little at citrus and tropical fruit. The whole thing balances out well and makes a great beer, albeit a strong one. Incidentally it hides its alcohol well, is not boozy. But you drink 2 of these and you know it. BelgianBeerGal	3.6 Coppertail Hop Skull #22 Can from Beach Liquors PCB. Pours a hazy golden brown color with a foamy off white head. Big aroma of caramel sweet malt and juicy, resinous hops. Flavor is mildly bitter with some caramel and strong malt. Dank, resinous hops in the finish that linger without much bitterness. Almost reminded me of something like Dogfish 120 or a barleywine. cheap	1.3 Coppertail Cloud Dweller Pop the can and a pine tree permeates the olfactory. Pour is a hazy slight orange pale. First taste is a big fat bitter green pine tar soaked cone. Another swig provides a hoppy rototiller plowing up my taste buds. Another big swig and I think my taste buds are gonna be ruined for an hour. Can somebody please git me a cheap crisp clean pale american lager to chase this BS with? This masterpiece is terr-terr-terribly on style. What else can be said? Flavour is green apple skins, some tart wood, mild acidity along with some fruity and slight sweet tones as well. Very nicely balanced on the sweet vs sour elements. Nice long dry mouthfeel. ironprog	3.6 Coppertail Cloud Dweller 12 oz. can, 6.5% ABV, Canned on: 07/18/22 AROMA: Slightly sweet with a touch of sourness. Scents of mango and pineapple are predominantly what I get. However, there is a faint scent of coconut too. APPEARANCE: Pours a hazy copper-orange with a very tall, white head that dissipates slowly and has moderate lacing. TASTE: Smooth, soft, and sweet, with flavors of pineapple, pine, and a touch of coconut in the finish. The flavors are soft, and slightly muddled, with no real distinction between them. While I find the overall flavor to be quite pleasant, I would prefer it if things were a bit more distinct. MOUTHFEEL: Full-bodied with a very soft and smooth texture. Carbonation is slightly above average. I have to say that I don't think I've ever experienced a beer that felt so soft on the palate. I would even go so far as to say that it is "pillowy" soft. Which I find to be a little disorienting, but I also kinda like it. Go figure. OVERALL: I am somewhat perplexed by this beer, in that, I can't seem to make up my mind whether I like it or not. On the one hand it is sweet with tropical fruit flavors and a very nice mouthfeel. On the other hand, the flavors are muddled together and they seem almost too soft. In fact, it reminds me of one of those tropical fruit juice blends that only has the low-acidic fruits in them (e.g. banana, mango, passion fruit, etc.), and then a low-IBU IPA was added to it. Of course, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Which is why I'm having a hard time deciding if I like it or not. One thing is for sure, I don't hate it. I'm just not sure if I would buy it again. Well, I have 5 more cans waiting in the fridge. Hopefully, I'll come to a conclusion before I finish the last one. Tuesday, October 11, 2022

It's a very, very dark brown--almost-opaque--with light sparkle, thin cap of beige head with fair retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong sweet and roasted earthy malts, dark chocolate. There are strong fruity aromas with some light yeast and earthen notes. There are some bready elements in the background with spice. It has a strong citrus flavor with spice, yeast, and earth in support. There is light bread. It has a medium body with a spicy citrus aftertaste. cheap	1.3 Coppertail Free Dive Well, for an IPA, this is rather light for an IPA at less than 6%, no? Fairly clear pale but I think it may have a slight haze. Smell is slight diesel on a otherwise mild hop perfume. Taste is not totally bastardized IPA but it is big and bitter. No mistakin this is IPA and nit an APA. Difficult and yet there is some lemon peels in there. In the end there is a tad of sharp phenolic in there, but not much. Friday, April 8, 2022
