Draught Lacy small head over red-chestnut beer. Fruity, yeast(esters), sweet, caramel. Coffee, caramel without the sweetness, just lightly roasted. Light body, smooth feel, nearly a fatty feel. Nose makes it seem too sweet, the rest is better, though lightyears from the Düsseldorfer classics.

from Chäsi, Erlach - hazy reddish-brown ber with a modest foam left; aroma of earthy malts, caramel and a red fruity hoppiness; a good malt backbone; a decent bitterness and a long earthy and fruity hoppy finish - clearly closer to an Irish Ale or an Altbier than to an IPA; very good

Haldemann Bock du Vully 1.2
On tap in Erzbierschof Zurich. Golden colour, thick white head. Some debate with the barman about whether this was in good nick or not...he was fairly relaxed but I got sour vinegary notes and some dubious esters...hopefully it was just past its best as I can’t believe it was meant to be like that. I promise to re-rate if I ever see it again!

Haldemann Weizen/Blanche - Nelson Sauvin 3.1
Pale yellow clear color with nice white foam layer. The smell is fresh and a tiny bit grapey. The taste is finely carbonated and refreshing. A little thin on the yeasty side compared to ’normal’ wheat beers. Great beer, but don’t expect a heavy wheat beer.

Hazy pale yellow color with white head. Aroma of bananas, fresh. Taste is refreshing, bananas, a bit sweetish-doughy. Weizen-typical texture. Okay, but where’s the Nelson?

@SoBiTa 2015 - very hazy dark amber beer with a persistent foam with big bubbles; some spicy hoppiness and a dominance of caramel, faint fruity notes below; a good malt backbone, light sweetness, some harsh bitterness and more spicy and piney hoppiness in the finish - not very clean neither very stylish but ok

Bottled, thanks Bov! Lightly hazy golden, small head. Perfumy jelly aroma. Sweet and light boded, crist and spicy with some cinnamon. Low bitterness. If it wasn’t for the strong jelly flavour it’d be way more pleasant.

Tap @ Master brewery pub, Folkestone (UK). I’m not sure which Haldemann I had, but it was lager/pilsener like and this is the only one not retired. Aroma of skunky hops. Clear, golden-yellow coloured with a thin, white head. Taste is crisp, thin, watery. It has skunky hops and a little malitiness.

Well, I know Fredy does not master french but the spelling of his beer looks quite terrible ... - slightly hazy amber colour under a solid and stable off-white foam, quite discrete aroma of caramel, honey and flowers, quite full-bodied, regular and subtle carbonation, mainly sweet and without real bitterness, more caramelish and flowery notes in a quite dry finish - another well-made beer from haldemann but a real character is terribly missing - - - - - - 5/2/2005 - hazy amber colour with a little foam, discrete notes of caramel and red fruits, good malt body, the finish is quite long showing notes of melon - very balanced - 4/6/7/3/13
