Floral and fruity hop notes to linger with the bitterness. Light body, medium carbonation, easy drinking, perfect in a sunny day of autumn. Although it's just started raining. weizen-slayer	3.3 Gaffel Kölsch Hell golden und klar im Glas. Florale Noten in der Nase. Was sich beim Geruch andeutet bestätigt sich beim Trinken: Für ein Kölsch relativ hopfig. Getreide- und leichte Fruchtnoten (Apfel, Birne, Quitte) reihen sich deutlich dahinter ein. Das für ein obergäriges Bier typische Geschmackspotpourri aus Frucht, Gewürzen und einer leichten Süße ist nur in Nuancen vorhanden. Die Unterschiede zu einem untergärigen Bayerischen Hellen fallen marginal aus. Das ist bei Leibe kein schlechtes Bier und ist wirklich schmackhaft und süffig - nur eben nicht ganz das was ich von einem Kölsch erwarte. Das Bier hat aber sicher seine Sparte gefunden. Ideal für Leute die geschmacklich stark zu Hellem, Export oder Pils tentieren, deren Lokalpatriotismus aber nur Kölsch als das einzig wahre Bier zulässt. Friday, October 27, 2023

Botrytis	3.7 Gaffel Wieß An dieser Stelle ein großes Dankeschön an Gaffel Becker für die kostenlose Bemusterung mit diesem Bier! Optisch präsentiert sich eine hellgoldgelbe, opaltrübe Wiess, in der sich schöne CO2-Fäden ihren Weg nach oben bahnen. Die weiße, feinporige Schaumkrone gibt sich schön flaumig und gut haltbar. Die Nase wird von leichten und angenehmen Noten umströmt. So darf man sowohl brotige Malznoten, aber auch leicht fruchtig-hefige Noten sowie einen Hauch Zitrus wahrnehmen. Das wirkt schon mal frisch und ansprechend. Der Antrunk kommt weich, angenehm vollmundig mit einer sehr getreidigen Malzigkeit. Am Gaumen macht sich eine breite Malzbasis breit, die Kohlensäure moussiert sehr sehr sanft und eine zarte Säure samt einem typisch obergärigem Fruchtcharakter mischt sich gut dazu. Die weiche Hefecharakteristik samt der zarten Würze und zarten Herbe vervollständigen das überaus interessante, nicht zu komplizierte Gesamtbild. Der guten Haptik steht eine ganz gute Süffigkeit gegenüber. Dieses Bier macht absolut Spaß! Im Nachtrunk halten die Aromen gut und lange an. Sehr langsam stellt sich eine leicht trockene Herbe ein, die zum nächsten Schluck animiert. Mein Fazit: Dieses Bier holt sicher viele Biertrinker ab. Es ist leichtgängig, supersüffig, überfordert nicht und liegt aromatisch irgendwo zwischen einem Zwickl, einem Weizen und einem Kölsch. Richtig gut! Sunday, July 16, 2023

Bought at the local craft beer shop, I am prepared for the pour with a tulip glass from Great Heights. The appearance is a perfectly clear, sparkling, gold body finished with a solidly white head that looks to last awhile. The scent is citrus and grain, no surprises this time. The drink is traditional but better than average I believe. A lemony citrus start along with cereal, biscuit and a hint of apricot sweetness. Tasty enough and better the colder you keep it imho. Botrytis	3.3 Gaffels SonnenHopfen Optisch hellgelb mit leichter Trübung und gut sichtbaren Trübstoffen bzw. Hefeflocken. Feine Perlage steigt hoch. Die weiße, feinporige Schaumkrone wirkt dabei flaumig, sehr stabil und gut haltbar. In der Nase vernimmt man bereits ganz deutlich den Citra-Charakter mit Noten von Zitrone, Orange, aber auch weißer Traube. Der Antrunk kommt angenehm spritzig, frisch und leicht süßlich-fruchtig, fruchtig-muskatig und muskatig herb. Ein durchaus schöner Bogen an Aromen. Am Gaumen setzt sich dieses Spiel genau so fort. Ein für 4,7% Alkohol durchaus schöner Körper, der mit einer zarten Malznote, aber hauptsächlich mit leicht süßlich-fruchtig-herben Noten von Zitrone, Orange, aber eben auch mit besagtem Muskat-Touch von weißer Traube. Mich persönlich erinnert es mit seiner zarten Säure auch an Wasserkefir, der mit Zitronen, Orangen und Rosinen angesetzt ist. Absolut erfrischend und harmonisch, wenn auch nicht übermäßig anspruchsvoll. Dass Gaffel obergärig kann, ist ohnedies kein Geheimnis. Mundgefühl und Süffigkeit darf man dabei als durchaus gut bezeichnen und es dieses Bier macht echt Freude. Im Nachtrunk klingt die Aromatik vielleicht etwas zu rasch aus. Mein Fazit: Wenn auch nicht weltklasse, aber dieses Bier zeigt eine klare Linie im gesamten Trinkverlauf, ist dabei absolut makellos und daher auch echt gut! Sunday, April 23, 2023
