Jasper Ridge Porcupine Porter
Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a fairly dark brown close to black color with a little white cap of a foamy head. Light lace. The aroma had some sweet to roasty nuts, some roasty coffee beans, burnt toast, rugged black licorice roast, cocoa powder, and dark chocolate nibs. Super light earthy hops. The flavor leaned towards the roasty side - taking the cocoa powder, coffee beans and dark chocolate nibs to the front. Light caramel tones nip at the end just before the aftertaste. Mild roasty to sweet sort of finish. The feel was about medium bodied with a clear sessionability about it. Good carbonation and an appropriate ABV felt good along my tongue. Overall, pretty nice porter that I would have again.

Jasper Ridge Wookie Goldberg Brown Ale
Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a light brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Messy stringy lace. The aroma had some soft sweet nuts, smooth clean caramel/toffee malts, some grassy hops, little bit of baker’s chocolate and sweet oats. The flavor leaned into the sweetness of the prior mentioned aromas to guide into a smooth slick sweet aftertaste and polish off in the finish. The feel was roughly medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Good smoothness along my tongue with a sturdy ABV. Overall, pretty good brown ale that I could come back to.

Jasper Ridge Right-Side Up Brown Ale
Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a fairly murky brown color with a little white cap of a head. Sly lace. The aroma centered around sweet and roasty coffee beans, caramel malts, light nuts and a touch of vanilla. Light chocolate underneath and then a touch of earthiness. The flavor leans towards the sweet side at first and then develops a light earthy to roasty character as it warmed. All intermingled fairly well in the aftertaste and slid into the finish fairly nice. The feel was just a tad under medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine. Fairly smooth along my tongue. Overall, pretty good brown ale worthy of coming back to.

The feel was about medium bodied, perhaps slightly under. Mild carbonation. Sturdy ABV. Overall, pretty good Irish red ale that I could come back to.

Jasper Ridge Brown Ale
Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Light lacing stuck around but slid after a while. The smell had a decent nutty/roasty caramel/toffee, earthy and slightly toasty. The taste was mainly the same. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. There’s a nutty aftertaste with a dry caramel finish. Overall, I say this was a pretty good brown ale.

Jasper Ridge Strawberry Smiggles
Tap: Cloudy amber with a huge, foamy, eggshell colored cap that settles surprisingly fast given its large size. The aroma only has very mild sweet strawberry. It’s mostly covered up by a strange, rotten tomato, brine, & musty carpet smell. Ugh, weird & off-putting. Tastes of salty tomato juice, almost like plain Bloody Mary mix with a hint of lacto-ish sourness, but it doesn’t mesh with the taste. Strawberry... where is it?! Hint of vague fruit but it doesn’t remind me of strawberry. Getting only weird tomato flavor. This is gross.

Jasper Ridge Blastin' Blueberry Wheat
Draft at brewpub. Pours a hazy golden color with a big frothy white head. Blueberry dominates the aroma but there is also a hint of sourdough. Very sweet initial blueberry taste eventually turns quite tart and finishes with a yeasty, doughy aftertaste. Watery texture and a little overcarbonated. I was hoping for something a little more smooth and refreshing.

Jasper Ridge Blastin' Blueberry Wheat
On draught at the brewpub in Ishpeming, Northern Michigan. Pours a semi-clear golden pale colored brew with a thin off-white head that has some nice retention and lacing. Aroma of blueberry pie filling, some golden grain malt and a touch of bread dough. Taste is light to medium bodied, wheat grain, blueberries, almost reminded me of Kelloggs Boo Berry cereal.
