Breckenridge SummerBright Ale
On Tap at Tully’s. I thought this was better than an 18 - that’s Bud Light territory. It had a few redeeming qualities such as it’s appearance and it was drinkable and mostly inoffensive as most summer beers are. Why the unwritten beer rule that in the summer we have to drink low ABV watery stuff? I still want Imperial Stouts, Barleywines and DIPAs.

Golden body with a medium white head. Pretty much a basic ok wheat beer imo.

Breckenridge Regal Double Pilsner
Clear, deep golden color with a smaller, light cream colored head. Pils aromas, but the hops seem a little to earthy. Pale malt and a freshly watered flower scent. Quite sweet from the start. Quite floral and bits of resin. Feel is full, but somehow I’m not satisfied. Perhaps a bit too acidic. 7/10

Light, sweet barley aroma. Golden in color with a white head. Light sweet body with a balanced floral/pine hop character. Well-balanced with a nice complexity, a solid IPA.

Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout
Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout has a thin-to-medium, beige, cola-type head of foam, a very dark-brown (essentially black) appearance, with tight bubble streams on the sides of the glass, and just a few lacing strings left behind. Aroma is of acrid, sharp malt, some raisin, and pungent note. Taste is of acrid, roasted malt, a bit of char, some sweetness, and the bitterness stems from the carbon, more so than from hops. Mouthfeel is a bit watery, and Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout finishes medium-wet and a bit dull. RJT

Pours a golden color with a white head. Aroma is mostly just the wheat. I was hoping for more hops. Hops come out just a little on the flavor. Slightly watery but not bad.

Breckenridge 471 IPA Barrel Series - Eureka!
Bomber poured a clear amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of caramel, bourbon, oak, peach, orange zest, pine and light vanilla. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bourbon, caramel, oak, fruitiness, light grapefruit and light pine with a smoith dry moderately bitter lingering bourbon finish.

Breckenridge Vanilla Porter
Pours from bottle a deep dark brown with garnet depths, one-finger, slightly pinkish buff head that leaves some nice lacing. Nose is roast malt, caramel, slight milk chocolate. First swallow had me asking where the vanilla was, but that came through stronger after a moment. Sprightly mix with the malt and lactose, balanced again chocolate and whiff of dark fruit without becoming heavy. The selling points here are creamy mouthfeel, controlled alcohol and pleasant flavor not trying to pulverize your palate. A good session beer.

Deep heavy dark brown pour with a thin ring of light tan foam around the glass. Lovely creamy chocolate and light coffee notes fill the nose with a slight bit of hazelnut. Smooth and coffee loaded, creamy chocolaty body with a roasted nuttiness and a surprisingly quaffable, crisp finish. Chocolate and light coffee on the aftertaste.

Breckenridge Christmas Ale
A bit out of season, but a 12oz bottle opened on 1st June 2016 while on holiday on Big Bear Lake, California. I thought this a very pleasant wintery brew and although I drank it in lovely warm sunshine it still ’hit the spot’. Brown bodies with red hue, the head an off-white colour. Subtle spice aroma and taste within the malty based brew, mild chocolate notes from the semi-sweet molasses and definitely a fireside beer more than a sunshine brew.

Breckenridge Vanilla Porter
355ml bottle from The Perfect Pour. Pours a very dark brown with reddish tinges, and a tan head. Scent strongly indicates vanilla, some roast maltiness coming through. Flavor is strongly vanilla as well, with more usual stout aspects supporting. Only a little sweet, and with a dry finish. Nothing complex going on, but very drinkable.

Breckenridge 471 Small Batch Oak Aged Double IPA

Breckenridge King’s Dish
On tap at the Barrel Bar. It poured a cloudy amber color with a small off-white head. The aroma was of light burnt sugar and alcohol. The taste was similar to the aroma with sweet caramels and a surprising hop presence with some mild chocolates in the aftertaste. Decent.

Breckenridge / Starr Hill White Out IPA
Hazy hay-golden hue with a thin sticky white cap. Huge earthy leafy bitter aroma with a ton of coriander and boozy wheat tones. Crisp wheaty flavor that gives way to boozy mellow body and loads of coriander, a slight lemon zest, and leafy fresh hops. So layered and complex and tasty, smoother than the 9.4% marker but still huge bodied.

Breckenridge 471 Small Batch IPA
It pours a golden orange that is actually more on the orange side. There is an off white moderate head that does produce a fair amount of lacing. It has aromas of Grapefruit and apricot with bread and caramel in the background. There is also a hint of spruce. IT is very sweet up front and bitters while in the mouth. There are grapefruit and apricot flavors with bread and caramel. It has a moderate feel with a moderately bitter finish that is fairly long lasting. Overall it is moderately bitter with strong fruit flavors and moderately malts on the low side.

Enjoyed on tap at Ale House in Grand Junction, CO. I didn't take tasting notes, but remember this being a pretty strong high ABV imperial IPA with lots of citrus. Overall pretty good, would have again.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a small fizzy brown head. The nose is sweet chocolate with a little lactose and roast. The flavor is quite sweet with vanilla and lactose with lots of milk chocolate and roastiness. Medium bodied and slightly sticky with soft carbonation and a long lingering sweet finish. Enjoyable enough, but the sweetness does get to be a bit much by the end of the bottle.

Tasting flight at the taproom in Denver. Cola black with a light beige head. The aroma is soft pats, vanilla and chocolate. Nice. Smooth luscious body which is probably all down to the Nitro. The taste is sugary sweet vanilla that seems like extract plus chewey oat like malt character. Alright but I can’t believe the best beer I had here was a boring amber ale. These guys brew macro-style craft...

Tasting flight at the taproom in Denver. Cloudy gold, white head, wheat, citrus (?) and agave nectar (floral) aroma. Raspy carbonation but a rough earthy flavor that then gives you wheat and some sweeter notes. No, thanks this tastes too rough and I want a wheat beer to be smooth.
