3.5 Nashoba Valley Very Bad Wolf 12 oz. bottle shared by tfontana. Thanks Tom!! Aroma is subtle red grapes and oak. I’m really trying to pinpoint the red grape used here. I’m failing miserably at trying to figure it out. Body and texture are about normal for the style. Just ok. Body could be fuller. Saturday, September 17, 2022

3.2 Nashoba Valley Very Bad Wolf Bottle pour from the source. It's an opaque black with ring of beige head. Aroma is light molasses, earthy malt--a bit barnyard with some wine and barrel. Taste is earthy roasted malt, lighter dark fruit/tart apple and vague wine barrel. Mouthfeel is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, earthiness is a bit much and wine could be more identifiable. Saturday, September 17, 2022

3.6 Nashoba Valley Very Bad Wolf Bottle from tfontana, thanks for the trade. Inky black without much of a head or fizz. Vinous chocolate aroma with a touch of ethanol. Taste follows the nose but adds some caramel and dark sugars. Could use a bit or carb but not to shabby. Thursday, September 8, 2022

2.6 Nashoba Valley Summer Stout Draught. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roast, earth, espresso, and some vanilla. Taste is roast-heavy with espresso, ash, some nuttiness, a little smoke, and some vanilla. There are some light fruit notes underneath, something like raisin but citric. Very boozy - especially for such a low ABV. Bitter. Light-medium body. Average carbonation. Slick, somewhat coating mouthfeel. Sunday, June 24, 2018

2.1 Nashoba Valley Scottish Wee Heavy On tap at winery. Pours copper with a small beige head. Aroma is skunk, leaves, beet, crown sugar, and caramel. Taste is very sweet; caramel, toffee, fig, some alcohol, and faint roast at the end. Something vaguely beet-y. Medium body. Medium, prickly carbonation. Thin and a little watery for the body. Saturday, April 7, 2018

2.2 Nashoba Valley Wattaquadoc Wheat On tap at winery. Pours an amber-ish gold with a small off-white head. Aroma is skunk, wheat, and grass. Taste is sweet; vaguely tart orange, light clove, vague banana bread, and chamomile. Light-medium body. Medium carbonation. Crisp-ish mouthfeel. This misses the mark on 'hefeweizen' almost entirely. The chamomile is the one interesting - and pleasant - element of this beer. Awful aroma. Saturday, April 7, 2018

2.5 Nashoba Valley Imperial Stout 12oz bottle. Pours dark brown with a small beige head that disappears almost instantly. No lacing. Aroma is syrupy thin fruity malt extract and coffee. Taste is very roasty, chocolate, espresso beans, and dark fruit. Some alcohol. Lingering, bitter wood and grain finish. While the taste is pleasant, it lacks the depth of character one would expect from an imperial stout. Light-medium body. Medium carbonation, although it feels too high. Thin, sticky mouthfeel. [10/12/17] After 8 months of aging, the beer is marginally improved - at least in the aroma. Thursday, February 16, 2017

2.9 Nashoba Valley Fire in the Orchard - Fireball Spiced Bottle in Seattle, which i had picked up last harvest in Bolton, MA. Odd watery, juicy red, no head, oily. Firm spice aroma, red hot candies, plenty of sweet herbs related to apples. Christmas spiced, with an emphasis on cinnamon and other hard spices, to imitate ’Fireball’. Works poorly, but thankfully this improves the flavor. Drinkable, but is all over the place. Clean, cloying, like an insane sports drink with lots of ABV. This is drinkable, tasty if you like, but I don’t know under what context you’d buy and drink this. Monday, June 27, 2016

3.1 Nashoba Valley Fire in the Orchard - Beehive Enhanced 12 oz bottle I picked up at the brewery (/cidery, /distillery) quite clean yellow, tiny head, palest yellow fruit. Artificial sweet honey over top, but not terribly annoying. Firm sweet sip, lots of high-alcohol cider flavor over the sweet body we are left with. Clean, sharp, tasty strong cider notes. I can like it. Saturday, June 18, 2016

2.3 Nashoba Valley Special Reserve Porter 12oz bottle. Sold black pour, oddly fizzy head that quickly fades. Decent bitter roast aroma. But sip is awful sweet and sour, infected. roast body is alright but something terribly wrong, unfortunately. Sour aftertaste. Nope. Monday, February 1, 2016

3.1 Nashoba Valley #4 Rhodium Bottle at Pozarevac tasting redux. Picked up from the brewery. Bright, a little yellow, small foam head. Yeasty tart, cidery must. Sweet, a little warm. Interesting, but not great. Good terroir is best I can say. Tuesday, January 26, 2016

2.8 Nashoba Valley Bolt 117 Lager This is a nice tasting well carbonated lager but it had a few faults when compared to something like DAB. First it's a bit hazy not brilliantly clear as a German lager should be. It has a thin quickly disappearing head (may be my glass). And a bit too grainy in the aroma with a slight hint of Pilsner/DMS. But a nice drinking beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Sunday, October 11, 2015

3.7 Nashoba Valley Perry 12oz Bottle, purchased at the Winery. Noses classic cider, with that hint of cottony, soft pear quality. Quiet. Straight up, there’s nothing wrong with this. It’s easy going, classic plain Perry, with no flaws. Light, bright, and drinkable. Not overly complex, but that’s okay. Friday, September 25, 2015

3.4 Nashoba Valley Barleywine 750ml bottle. 2005 vintage. Josh pulled this one out of the back of my Barley Wine shelf! Poured an amber color with a small sized off white. Showed its age, but overall not that bad. Nutty, toasted caramel, some fruitiness, and woody/earthiness. Tuesday, February 18, 2014

4.2 Nashoba Valley Imperial Stout Pours a motor-oil cola, with a generous amount of puffy, dark-platinum head; fairly lacy, and very lasting. The smell is of well-roasted malts, coffee, and earthy/musty hardwood. Other notes of Irish cream, soy sauce, and brown sugar. The taste is very rich with sweet, sugary, roasted barley. Has a sugary espresso finish, with a very faint bitterness. The palate is fairly full, and well-carbonated. On a personal note, I feel this is an underrated imperial stout, as I like my imperial stouts to be rich and fairly sweet. This one quenches the desired taste of an imperial stout well.
