Fly Creek Original Hard Cider
I had it from the bottle. The bottle lists the ABV at five percent. The aroma is apples and grain. The taste is tart apples with a hint of sweetness. This is dry and refreshing. There's definitely a champagne quality to it. It's very bubbly. This is very drinkable.

Bottle from the cider mill. Pours a transparent gold color. No head. The appearance doesn't do it justice. Very balanced and not overly sweet. I can drink this for breakfast ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle as a sample at the mill. Pretty sweet almost honey like a mead. This is more if a wine that can be heated up or a dessert then a cider . Shouldn't be on this sure but it's interesting ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Grabbed a bottle from the cidery to enjoy during afternoon by the lake. Pours yellow with thin fizzy head that dissipates. Nose of tart apples and light. Tastes of apples, tart apple skin, yeast, light white grapes, and a touch of sugary sweetness. Decent not too sweet

Fly Creek Apple Frost
375 ml bottle purchased at the cider mill. Pours a clear very warm gold. The aroma is quite strong with sweet apples with notes of pear and even a bit of lemon. The flavor is sweet apples and somewhat acidic. There is a some tartness there as well. Maybe a touch of lemon. Not as smooth on the palate as it could be. An interesting take on ice wine done with apples.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear light gold with no carbonation. The aroma is apples with some light fruit sweetness. The flavor is similar but a bit more emphatic than the aroma with fresh apples an some fruit sweetness. Paired well with some cheddar cheese. No problems.

Yellow green pour. Aroma is sour apples and malt. Flavor is sweet and sour apple. Like a boring, apple-heavy sour.

Bottle. Pours a clear brilliant pale gold with a fizzy white head that disappears almost immediately. The aroma is apples along with some yeast. The flavor is similar and is predominantly fresh apples followed by some yeastiness. So so.

The aroma is dry, apple, earthy. The appearance is clear yellow, lots of carbonation. The flavor is like the aroma, only sweeter, more apple. Ok for a cider.

Fly Creek Original Hard Cider
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 22oz bottle into a wine glass. Appearance: The body had a bright, light yellow colored body with a fizzy bright white head. Smell: The aroma has a pleasant pressed apple skin and sweet alcohol in the nose. Taste/Mouth feel: It has a slightly astringent, dry white wine like quality up front that quickly turns to a nice light sweet/tart apple flavor. The finish is sweet with more red-apple skin flavor lingering shortly. The palate has a light body with a thin slightly slick texture and lively carbonation. Notes: Overall it is a very wine like hard cider and very enjoyable.

Aroma of raspberries, honey and overall very sweet. Taste of combination of sweet and tart. Raspberry taste with another underlying taste of honey. This selection is my favorite from Fly Creek.

A great Hard Cider and they have made more improvements on the aroma, flavor and body every time I have purchased it while visiting Cooperstown. My overall experience with this selection was marginal the first time I tried it but their improvements are very impressive. I will test it again when I go back to the area to see if they have kept up the quality.

Pours a shiny clear very light golden almost a weak piss yellowish with a high carbonation and fizzy soda head. Aroma is initially pretty nice- just some fresh pressed apples, but also some apple pie spice hints. Flavor is a bit weak- some apple skin, light sweetness, even some alcohol kick due to the thin body. Almost doughy and bready but thins out a bit at the end and turns a bit harsh in the throat.

22oz bottle. Sampled this at the Winery/Cidery and thought it was pretty good, but now that I’m home and drinking it I am wondering what I was thinking. I guess I was just really excited to get to BCTC. Anyway. Pours a clearn golden with no head. Smells of apple juice and cheap white wine. Very light and refreshing, but has a very strong white wine character which really detracts from the flavor and my overall enjoyment. Maybe this is the champagne yeast. I usually don’t say this about ciders as I usually like them dry, but this could really use some more sweetness. Oh well, the cave aged cheddar and cider donuts were bomb!

Filtered. Pours an extremely light brown or orange color, completely clear, with no building head but plenty of effervescence. Sweet, sugary, straightforward nose of apple juice. Lightly tingly on the tongue, not fizzy or over-carbonated, but light and sweet and pleasent but fairly simple. Lacks any noticeable off-flavors, but overall it’s very light and uncomplicated. Refreshing for sure, in fact it could almost come off as apple soda, with the high sweetness and light body and fizziness, were it not for a very slight bite at the back to remind you that there’s some alcohol in there. Overall a nice enough cider to drink, but more on the side of alcopops than any true cider.

22oz bottle. Pours a clear, effervescent straw color; white head that quickly fades to nothing. Crisp apples and apple cider in the aroma; not overly sweet or sugary, just a pleasant apple character with a hint of yeast. Medium mouthfeel: nice levels of acidity upfront: lightly tart apples and a crisp carbonation; there’s an effervescence and a slightly musty yeast character here that shows off the champagne yeast; no overt, sticky sweetness, just a very drinkable hard cider. Medium, tart apple cider finish. The person we spoke to at Fly Creek indicated that they’d recently switched over to a new cidery making this (since they outsource it); it seems like it might have been improved.

Fly Creek Original Hard Cider
Thanks to cletus for this bomber of real hard cider. When you pop the lid it is a bit sour in the smell, then it builds to a pleasantly sweet aroma as you dispense it into the big clear steeler mug. Now I know this mug holds exactly 22 oz. The look of this cider is quite a show; start off with rolling parades of streaming carbonation and I mean rolling. After the initial visual excitement a continuous quick roll of carbonation is there till its consumed. The appearnce starts off with a 5 then fades to a 3. Head? What head. The top of this brew is clean as Mr. Cleans head. No froth no nothing. There is an evolving thin girdle on the inside edge of the glass and the bubbles quickly & readily break and go away only to be replaced with new layers. The flavor is simply delicious and sweet without any hints of sickening syrup. You can tell this is made only from real fruit. Quality without fiddling. Less is more when it comes to cider. Nice tingly refreshing carbonation that is impressingly lovely. Finish? What finish? Is it all gone? On par with fruit lambics and gueze.

Pours reddish. Smells of raspberries and honey. Taste is of sweet raspberries with some underlying tartness balancing out nicely with the honey present. Finishes like molasses. Much better than their traditional mead.

Pours amber and clear. Nearly still with only a slight tingle on the tongue. Taste is very dry suggesting the usage of champagne yeast. Not much in the way of honey flavor. Drinkable, but average.

I drive 300 miles to buy apples and cider at this orchard every fall, and I was very excited this year when they introduced their hard ciders and wine. What a let down this drink was. I expect a hard apple cider to taste like apples...this tasted like champagne with hardly any apple flavor at all. Try their apple raspberry cider...that is alot better

I like hard ciders quite a bit but this one seemed, well, weak. Flat apple nose gives way to a very flat apple taste. Needs some kind of carbonation...anything.
