I don’t know if the bottle i drank was infected but I didn’t finish my glass. I served this beer in a trappist glass at 11°C. It was a cloudy liquid and there was a minimal head. About the taste, it was sweet but the taste of alcohol was too strong and fades others flavours. in your mouth, there was a light body and a thin feel but there was an average carbonation.

330ml bottle from Racines, Cassel. Never had the entire contents of a bottle gush out before, but it just happened with this. Shame. The salvaged remnants poured a murky yellow with bubbly white head. Marzipan aroma. Taste has a bizarre sweetness, almost artificial with some weird vanilla fudge notes. Never seem to have a beer in optimum condition from this brewery so it’s hard to judge but this one is plain odd.

75cl bottle from Racines, Cassel. A gusher that spunked half its contents all over me & the kitchen floor. Not a good start. Pours a murky brown with foamy beige head. Vague grimy malt aroma. Taste is a rather vague, nondescript malt taste with a spicy bitterness, and no discernible orange or cinnamon present. Very disappointing.

Caou Hop Hop Hop
From bottle. Highly effervescent, tall white head on a lightly hazed gold body.
Impression of the nose is floral / perfumed lemon balm, wood oil, herb, dust, musty sweat sock (iso acid?), strong aged hop cheese odor. Sharp and bracing carbonation. Soapy and lightly astringent, dry, overly-phenolic, over-fermented, stark, herbal. Fun beer even not in the best shape. Not an IPA at all, closer in character to nebulous French Biere de Garde, but certainly hoppier than most.

Kaouët Triple
Bottle from Terre de Boissons, Calais. Clear orange amber colour with thick lasting ivory head. Spicy orange triple aroma. A little weird on the initial flavour in the mouth, but aroma and finish is pretty much a standard candied triple. Some sherbert on finish. Too sweet for me. It’s ok. Still a weird flavour in the middle of the mouthfeel.

Caou Hop Hop Hop
Bottle from Terre de Boissons, Calais. Clearish golden lasting white head. Hoppy aroma. A little thin in flavour in the mouth. Some sherbert hop on the finish. Some esters on aroma. It’s ok, some ok hop, Pretty drinkable, I mean it lasted a short time. So yes, quite a good hoppy more than averagely hoppy beer and certainly the hoppiest thing from France outside of Thiriez I’ve had.

Caou Hop Hop Hop
