Adkin Bakers Blonde Elixir
Cask conditioned at Oxford Beer Festival ’15. Gold with white head. A pleasantly fruity beer, sweet lemon and orange flesh notes, hoppy but with a light cigarette ash character just bringing the beer down a little. Good though.

Adkin Alfred's Honey Mild
Cask conditioned at Oxford Beer festival ’15. Clouded brown with white head. This proved to be a particularly thin beer, some nutty notes perhaps, some wet cardboard. Not keen.

Adkin Alfred's Marynka
Cask conditioned at Oxford Beer Festival ’14. Gold with white head. There is a sweetish malt lead on this, then appears a strangely bittering character, thinnish but a hint of lagery lemon. Works out quite oddly and I wasn’t over keen on it.

Adkin Alfred's Citra
Cask conditioned at Oxford Beer Festival ’14. Gold with white head. This was quite a sweet, fruity beer, a little tanginess found its way through carrying some bitterness, but overall not a great showcase for this hop unfortunately.

Adkin Alfred's Honey Mild
Cask at the Reading beer festival. My hundredth mild! In the company of Ian, who judging by the state of hin at the time probably doesn’t remember it. Anyhoo, I’ve seen this fairly local beer at the festival for the last few years and thought it was roumd about time I tried it. And it’s good. The obvious honey sweetness is well balanced by the bitterness from the roasted malts. Good effort, I liked this. Nice easy drinker.

Adkin Alfred's Citra
Cask at the 19th Reading Beer & Cider Festival. A perfectly acceptable, tasty, but unexciting Citra beer. Straw coloured; citrus aroma; crisp citrusy taste; and fresh palate.

Adkin Alfred's Honey Mild
Cask at the Reading Beer Festival 2012. Pours clear, golden-red-brown with a white foam head. Some dry, sweet toast in the nose, along with leaves and berries. Light sweet flavor with faint toasty caramel, some musty leaves, berries, dark sugars. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with vague honey impressions, light toast, berries, wet leaves. Slight syrupy sugars. Not bad, not great.

Adkin Alfred's Galaxy
Cask conditioned at Oxford Beer Fest ’12. Gold with white head. Juicy, fruity body leading to a full hoppy beer, lots of fruity notes, Kiwi fruit came to mind, gooseberry and sweet grape. Loved this.

Adkin Alfred's When Sheila met Brad
Cask conditioned at Wantage Beer Fest ’11. Clear gold with white head. This was a light, dry hoppy beer, refreshingly sharp with a peachy fruity hoppiness. Apricot skin and lemony. I would have thought that Shaun should brew this more regularly as it’s pretty decent.

Adkin Alfred's A Conflict Of Interest
Bottle that I picked up at Vincent Montgomery Traditional Butchers, Wantage, a butchers shop with deli selling 40 or more different bottles of beer. Picked up Saturday 22nd Oct 2011 consumed at home. Hazy amber in appearance with a light filminess across the top. The aroma has a very slight tinge of sourness which tends to be more prominent in the mouth, some bitterness shows, not much sweetness, I have to conclude that this may have a slight infection, so not great. Adkin Alfred's Jaypee's Stout
Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival on 27 April 2011. Almost black in colour. Dry with a fairly burnt malt presence. Some fruity notes and a touch powdery cocoa on the palate. Decent but seemed just a little short of body and general oomph. A bit less overall presence than the Binghams Coffee Stout tried alongside it.

Adkin Alfred's Jaypee's Stout
(bottle conditioned) It sits in my tulip glass without a head but its not an unassuming color , deep black and intense looking.
nose is a bit subtle ...rich roastiness. Drinks down sweet and roasty malted; a chocolate note. Notes of some sour acidity . Its allright , bit mundane but plesant stout . this would be more my bag @ at least 6 % or higher ; body lacks heart.

Adkin Alfred's Honey Mild
Cask handpull at The White Lion, Fawcott, Oxon. Lovely dark brown colour, thin lasting beige head. Really good mild, lovely smooth flavour and mouthfeel. Some honey flavours. Some honey on aroma. Really impressive beer.

Adkin Alfred's Jewel
50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Pale amber with a fast fading white head; heavy carbonation and lots of fluffy yeast that wouldn’t fully settle before pouring. Honey aroma; citrus flavours, with a long strong dry and bitter hoppy finish with traces of pine resin. Very tasty.

Adkin Alfred's Elswith Ale
Cask gravity at Oxford Beer Festival, 15-10-09 Pours copper in colour as the description suggests. Fairly easy going session ale with a hop that I’ve rarely come across, its pleasant enough but safe, notes are sketchy and short but working behind the bar and its rather busy. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Adkin Alfred's Wantaig Ale
Cask gravity at Oxford Beer Festival, 15-10-09 Pours gold and like its stablemate the Honey Mild it hadn’t really got a head to speak of. Light honey and a touch of floralness on nose, there is also a little wheatiness. A little honey rush of sweetness to start but then a really good snappy hop bite, hops are a touch soapy maybe but not bad at all. A6 A3 F7 P3 Ov13 3.2

Adkin Alfred's Honey Mild
Cask gravity at Oxford Beer Festival, 15-10-09 Pours dark amber head possibly white head but never lasted long enough that I could be certain. Soft in the mouth with honey and caramel most noticeable, touch of honey on nose, its pleasant enough and around this side of the bar incredibly popular. A6 A3 F6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Adkin Alfred's Jaypee's Stout
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Oxford BF. A black stout with a slight beige coloured head. The aroma has plenty of chocolate and a smidgeon of licquorice. The taste is dry and smoky with more chocolate. Pretty nice.

Adkin Alfred's Jewel
Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Oxford BF. Glen obviously got the good half! Golden with whitish bubbles for a head. The aroma was on the sweet side with signs of honey. Same in the mouth with some nettles. Decent enough but I didn’t get the hoppiness Glen had at all.

Adkin Alfred's Jaypee's Stout
Cask gravity at Oxford Beer Festival 16-10-08 Thanks for adding this Hughie, I had this on Thursday night but forgot to take down the abv and couldn’t find details of it anywhere. Fruity and chocolatey straight away and whilst there is some bitterness there its just sort of kicking about half heartedly liked a bored teenager with its hands in its pockets kicking a can along the road, little bit of creaminess, its really quite nice, interesting how it got the name.

Cask Conditioned at Oxford Beer Fest ’08 in company of Hughie & Maeib. Dark brown with cream head. Smooth chocolate notes right from the off, a gentle fruity stout with undelying latte coffee notes. Another very decent beer.

Adkin Alfred's Golden
Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2008. Golden amber colour with no head and not much condition. Despite the name this is more of a bitter than a golden ale. More malty than hoppy. Dry and biscuity with a quite clean mouthfeel. Fairly respectable but a few more hops would not have gone amiss.

Adkin Alfred's Draught
Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest 07. Brown amber, hazed with slight head. Initial sulphery noite reminiscent of another south Oxfordshire Brewery. Dry bitteress throughout with a hoppy finish. Quite reasonable.
