McRitchie North Carolina Hard Cider
Single from Brusin' Ales. 6.5% batch. Clear, glossy, fizzy yellow straw body. Smells of acidic apples, apricots, mild peach & faded yeasts. Pear-like/floral upfront, with acidic apples coming in afterwards. Quite tannic and dry(but very fruity). Apricots. Good salinity. Lingering bitterness. Thin, wet & wine-like. Faint, dying carbonation. More apple wine then cider, but with benefits from both.

It has a slightly vinegar smell. Tastes like a white wine that has turned. NC has some great ciders, this is not one of them.

Brought this cider back from NC. Split with girlfriend. Poured a clear yellow color with a fizzy, disipating head. Aroma is apples. White wine dominates this cider, very much like a white. Okay, perhaps lacking a bit compexity, but perfect as a regular very dry cider.

This cider is really dry and drinks quite easily. I think they put a little too much sulphur in it, it has a sulphur bite and is lacking in carbonation. It drinks more like a Sauvignon Blanc.

Bottle - bought around new year’s - clear pale lemon color a few small bubbles, no head or lacing to speak of; not much of an aroma, but what I’m picking up are tart apples; taste starts as mildly acidic apples, finishes slightly dry and then disappears; is thinly buttery on the palate. Overall it is drinkable, but not particularly exciting.

Bottle. Very light straw color, no head. Very mild appleskin aroma, not a lot of sweet or tart, almost a little pear. Well-carbonated, slight sweetness to start, mild tartness halfway through, sweeter finish. Pretty mild and uneventful cider.

Light golden with no head. Aroma is of lightly sour apples, and slightly sweet. The tartness picks up a bit in the flavor along with a sweet middle and a dry, mild sour finish. Low carbonation throughout this cider. Solid cider.

Bottle from weaver street market. Took a chance on a local product.Pours light like white wine with no head. Havent found too many ciders with a lasting head so I cant take points off for that. Nose is dry with fresh apples and oak. Flavor and mouthfeel are also very dry with notes of sweetness. Alcohol noted, but not a disturbance. Kinda bland and watery at times. Pretty good, but I guess I was hoping for a little more.
