2.2 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Old 33cl bottle. BB 05/2010. A almost clear amber beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of mild sweet and tart fruits, red malt, resins. Taste of mild sourish red fruits, resins, caramel, too old... Sunday, December 24, 2017

3.1 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Old bottle - thanks to quack-duck for that beer! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass not too zippy, very small head. Mild sourish-old aroma. Starts mild, not too sourish, light notes of lemon. Old-dusty-earthy notes. Mild spicy. Also some nutty hints. Finish metallically. Probably over its top, but still an interesting beer. Saturday, June 11, 2016

1.6 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Berliner Weisse for me cannot really even be considered a beer in General. However this version is worse than most other I’ve tasted. I just don’t like the overall sour taste it has to it! Thursday, March 26, 2015

2.6 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Old bottle, BB 05.2010, bought it summer 2009 in Berlin. --> 5 years old The beer is quite dark in the glass for a Berliner Weisse. Nose is caramel and malt. The beer starts very neutral. I remember the fresh beer beeing very neutral with only hints of sourness - and this bottle is the same. Only very few hints of sourness - not more than in the fresh beer. The body is caramel with a very watery layer. In the aftertaste smooth, hints of yeast, hints of sourness. This one didn’t improve with age - it remained on the same level as the fresh beer - not much bitternerness, not much sourness. 7/12/8/8 Friday, May 30, 2014

2.1 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Thanks to erzengel for sharing this 2009 Berliner Weiße! Pours a full orange color with a loose light tan head. The smell is caramel, cardboard, fruit, dust. The taste is as it smells with just the slightest sourness in a fruity ending. Light in body with mild carbonation. Not like any Berliner Weiße I’ve ever had.... That’s not a good thing! Friday, May 30, 2014

3.7 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original pour us hazy pale yellow with tight thin white head. Nose is light dust and a fair amount of cheese. Faint notes of salt, rather grainy in back with lots of lacto. Taste is heavy lacto, fairly sour, light lemon notes towards the back as the grain finishes clean. Light body very crisp carb and easy to drink. Finish is a bit light in the britches in terms of taste. Thursday, November 29, 2012

Test vom 3.12.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,6,6,7,9,6 - 6,50 Sunday, May 6, 2012

2.1 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Bottle (thanks to Quack-Duck!): Golden, almost clear, no head to speak of; bready-fruity nose, traces of oxydation; very light sweetish-sourish flavour, light bodied to watery; mild mineralic and fruity-sourish finish. Absolutely not convincing.... Thursday, September 1, 2011

2.9 Berliner Bürgerbrau Bernauer Schwarzbier Bottle from Aufsturz, Berlin. Dark brown. Metallic aroma is sweet and cola-like with ferrous/iron-like aftertaste. Disappointing. Thin, simple, and drinkable. Friday, February 11, 2011

2.6 Berliner Bürgerbrau Bernauer Schwarzbier Clear red brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet caramel and light roasted malt. Flavor is moderate sweet. There is not enough roasted malt and maybe because of this it isn’t dry enough and too sweet. 040111 Tuesday, January 25, 2011

2.6 Berliner Bürgerbrau Bernauer Schwarzbier Biggish coarseish brown head. Deep dark red body. Vague papery mealy aroma. Dry-sweet wild berries and paper taste with faint roasty notes. Mild mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry earthy papery aftertaste with mealy notes. Incredibly low on taste. A real disappointment. (0.5l bottle from Schönefeld Airport, Berlin. 3.5 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Bottle from Quack-Duck, thanks! Orange blonde color, head disappears instantly. Soft lemon aroma. Thin. 2.3 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original 08/03 It poured slightly hazy golden body with small head. Sweetish caramel aroma, but very slightly sour. Weaker, watery sweet to sour flavor, also some vegetable notes, really very strange for a BW. Thinner in body with almost no finish, what left is some dusty sweetish aftertaste. They wanted to make a more pleasant BW for masses but they’ve only watered down something very strange and made it totally boring, slightly unpleasant with nothing in it that could make a customer interested! 2.3 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Bottle from KaDeWe, Berlin. Fully diminishing offwhite head. Body is hazy, pilsner golden. Aroma of sweet buscuits, with a nutty note and a hint of caramelized fruits. Taste is rather bland, light sourish fruity, cider-ish, without the required freshness from the lactic acids. Low carbonation, very thin and watered down. Nice smell, thats it! Tuesday, March 23, 2010

3.3 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original bottle. Hazy golden colour, small white head. Malty and slightly wheaty with a dusty hop prodile. Slightly acid/sour with a lemony character. Not as sour as Berliner Kindl, a pleasant beer. Sunday, March 14, 2010

2.3 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Bottle from Bier-Spezialitäten-Laden, Berlin. Poured a hazy gold body with a tiny white head that went away fast. Odd stale malty nose, slightly rotten, ehh. Light acidic taste, sweet, dusty eggy. Unimpressive, like they wanted to dumb it down for the general audience, but ended up nowhere really. Dunno how this would function with syrups but on its own, it doesn’t. Funny really, the best and the most "genuine" of the three BWs I’ve had so far didn’t come from Berlin but right next door from Potsdam. Saturday, March 13, 2010

2.5 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original 330ml bottle (Berlin) - shared by mjs - thanks! Pale orange, brief head. Sharpish orangy aroma, also a bit stale. FLattish palate, papery retronasals. BB 2010-04, drinking 2010-03, not as fresh as it could be. Simple wheaty body, grains pleasant. Sourness very muted, paperiness too dominant. Thin. A bit disappointed, this is quirky, but not particularly interesting. Maybe we left it too long before drinking. Tuesday, March 9, 2010

2.9 Berliner Bürgerbrau Bernauer Schwarzbier Bottle at Aufsturz, Berlin, 21 March 2009. Nice deep red/brown colour with a diminishing white head. Slightly sweet with a subtle sour edge. Nothing special. Fruity but not very roasty. Light body. Didn’t really hit the spot for me - I prefer a bit more presence in a Schwarzbier. Friday, November 20, 2009

2.3 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original 330ml bottle. Golden in colour with a moderate white head. Sweetish aroma of spice, bitter fruit and grain. Light, almost watery mouth feel with grapefruit and banana leading to a dry finish. Tasted alongside the Kindl Berliner Weisse and came off worst on all fronts. Inoffensive and dull, almost like a watered down hefe weizen. Monday, October 5, 2009

2.6 Berliner Bürgerbräu Berliner Weisse Das Original Bottle - Slightly hazy straw golden body with a huge fine white head; Not very pleasant nor very fresh nose of very sour rye bread; Boring lightly sour body, quite big carbonation, strange unfitting malt fill; I get a little freshness and something right in the finish, a very light citrus touch but covered by way to much unpleasant malt fill. Disappointing!! Wednesday, January 7, 2009
