Aroma is of roasted malt, toast, dark fruit, bourbon and vanilla. Body is full, creamy and slightly crisp. one51	3.8 Blue Mountain Dark Hollow Bottle from Market Street Wine drunk at the Christmas Tasting. Dark brown, almost no head. Nose is bourbon and a bit of roasted malt. Flavor is very full, a bit of soy and saltiness but not too much. Pretty smooth for a bourbon aged one, decent bitterness to back up the sugars, I like it but not as complex as some other bourbon aged stouts. Friday, December 2, 2022

The aroma of tropical fruit, pineapple, and pale malts is detected. Complex taste with pine resin blended with tropical fruit, tangerine, pineapple, and pine resin. It's like popping open a can of pineapple. Seriously. Also, flavor is the same. Canned ass pineapple, A hint of green leaf. This is sweetened pineapple juice with a hint of booze in it. Is this beer? JaimeZX	3.7 Blue Mountain Dark Hollow Based on other reviews, the carbonation on these seems to be all over the map. 4-pack of cans from Costco, poured into the brandy snifter I use for all tastings: almost no carbonation. No head, a few bubbles. That said, it's a nice medium-thick mouthfeel. The nose is immediately oak and bourbon barrel, then redfruit and licorice. The 10% rapidly overcomes my taste buds, but there's also oakiness and bourbon barrel in there, and then some generic stout flavor and nothing more but alcohol warmth in the throat. tmoreau	3.9 Blue Mountain Dark Hollow (Coconut, Vanilla Bean - Concealed Darkness) Shared 2015, 750 ml. bottle poured to a snifter showing a black/brown hue, with a moderate layer of brownish tan froth, and spots & strands of lacing. The nose was roasted, modest cocoa, sweetness, dark fruit, barrel hints, vanilla, and bourbon. Medium to full bodied, the taste was as the aroma, with low carbonation, alcohol that was well integrated, roasted & earthy bitterness, but no coconut to speak of. KevinReddirt	3.8 Blue Mountain Isabel (2018-) A 750 ml bottle of Isabel sent along by rare beer, I am informed to enjoy by 5/22. With caged and corked beers becoming more scarce, it is nice to have this one to sample. A snifter in hand, the pour is jade black with a credible head of straw colored foam. I have a smell, chocolate, vanilla and alcohol. A drink follows, more of the chocolate, cereal, some orange zest coming through and plenty of malt. Not as hefty a mouth feel as I had hoped but definitely a substantial bitterness at the end. Decent. Sunday, March 14, 2021
