Inspired by RBSG 08 being in my back yard, meeting so many of the folks with whom I’ve traded, and touching base again with a bunch of the locals, let’s see if I can find more time to visit Ratebeer. Hey, maybe I’ll even get some ratings posted.
I’m not ready to start trading again, mostly because of the backlog of beers I still have, but also because of money woes.
I’ve rated over 5000 beers since I started doing this in 1994, but only started entering them into ratebeer in 2004. Anything I’ve rated here is stuff I’ve actually rated (or re-rated) since joining RateBeer. I won’t be entering the old ratings here though...
I generally do NOT rate to style, but on how much I like the beer. And flavor is by far the most important category to me. However, with my BJCP background, I do tend to discuss the beer styles in my reviews.
I have a vast cellar, so if you wish to trade with me, understand that you absolutely cannot judge what beers I need just by looking at my ratings.
I generally like dark and/or flavorful beers, but I greatly enjoy the hobby of rating beer, regardless of whether the beer is "good" or not.
