Richmond, CANADA -

The Full Sail Brewing company annouced the release of its new product packaging. Full Sail’s founder and CEO Irene Firmat declared that they changed the packaging to better reflect the culture of their brand. Historical elements are added in the bottles packaging but the familiar white “Full Sail” still remains.



The small Maine brewers had a big year in 2004. Collectively in 2004, Maine’s small brewers and brewpubs enjoyed their best year since the mid-1990s. They nearly achieved a 100 000 barrels production, a 15 % increase over 2003.



Stone Brewing Company announced that they grew at 31% in 2004. This is over four times the growth rate of the craft beer sector as a whole, which registered 7% annual growth last year.



In the face of protesters, the Thai Stock Exchange has postponed a decision whether or not to list Thai Beverages, makers of market-leader Chang Beer. The listing would have been the biggest IPO in the country’s history.



Kansas City’s Boulevard Brewing is expanding capacity, bringing their potential output to 600,000 barrels per year. The present level is just over 100,000 barrels.



InBev, the world’s largest brewer by volume, announced the global launching of Brahma. The launching spans more than fifteen countries including the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom. Brahma was first brewed in Brasil and is one of the most famous and best-selling beers in Latin America.



Vrsacka Pivara in Serbia, makers of the Sampion and Zoffman brands, is being privatized. The privatization of another Serbian brewery, BIP, has become a battleground between economic reformers and traditionalists.



Workers at the Labatt’s Brewery in St. John’s, Newfoundland staged a wildcat strike on Wednesday.



Brewpub chain Gordon Biersch has added a brewpub at the Sacramento International Airport.
