With Travlr Gene being congratulated (and rightly so) for managing to rate over 100 beers from every US State it got me wondering.

Anyone close to that sort of stat with English counties?

I suspect that Rutland and the Isle of Wight will prevent anyone getting a complete set, but please post your little totals, no matter how small or huge.

I have 10 of our 46 counties with over 100 rates.
5 more counties in the 80's, none in the 90's though.
My lowest is the Isle of Wight with 8 rates, Surrey just above on 15.

19 over 100
2 over 90
1 over 70
2 over 60
2 over 50

Surrey and Bedfordshire are the next to get over 100.

Ooh I can now I play this game properly, at least as long as my ticks count as ratings.

38 out of 46 counties with 100

Isle of Wight and Rutland are out of reach for the foreseeable future with 23 and 27 respectively.

The remaining six are:
Worcestershire 89
Northamptonshire 85
Durham 83
Warwickshire 82
Northumberland 71
East Yorkshire 69

I might have enough in the vaults to get all those over 100.

Yep I need to get to 100 on all of those too. Northants is a surprising one. And I've been to Worcester. Don't think I've ever had a beer whilst I've been in Warwicks or Durham. Gives me something to focus on at certain CAMRA BFs.

As an aside to this thread: I am currently drinking and rating a Thornbridge TART. I thought I would have a look where my 84 Derbyshire ratings put me in top 50; Ha, not even close to joining the 'elite', well over 100 required.

I then thinks it's got to be Thornbridge, Landlocked and Buxton that everybody has been rating, but it seems there are a lot more decent breweries within the county and the ratings appear to be split between quite a few of those decent breweries.

Purity and Aldi have given me over half of my Warwicks rates.

Yes indeed, if you weren't aware before, then you should be by now, that Derby and Derbyshire is a great drinking/rating city and county. Always one of my favourite places to drink. Lots of that is to do with drinking there with Simon "Haddonsman" and a lot to do with Thornbridge and Buxton breweries, but there is plenty of other good beer to drink there.

If you've not done a day in Derby, then that should be on your list for next year.

No Aldi near me at the moment, but apparently Ashford is getting one next year.

Cheap rates at Aldi and they often have 'one off specials'.

Just to upset you: I've had an Innis & Gunn beer: scored it 3.7 too!

Yes, I knew Derby was a drinking city: sadly never knew Simon. It has been on my 'radar' for some time and I intend to go one day/over a weekend eventually.

Looks like Ashford is going upmarket then.
