December 2011. For anyone traveling via Munich airport, if you don’t spend your last night in Freising and climb the hill to Weihenstephan, than shame on you! That’s precisely what we did on our last night in Germany, and we couldn’t have been happier. This place is amazing. With a great view of the town and a warm, welcoming environment, you simply can’t beat sipping on the awesome Weihenstephaner offerings just steps from their kettles and munching on the savory regionally classic meals. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it, and I’ll go back in a second next time we make the trek to Bavaria. (Brewery #570)

Doesn’t get much better; tasty Bavarian food and fresh Weihenstephan beers brewed about 100 feet away. Great atmosphere and friendly service.

This place is one of my favorite places in the world to drink. Amazing cellar atmosphere with great ambiance. The beers are some of Germany’s finest, especially the Weissbiers. It didn’t hurt that there was a sexy 20ish waitress with huge cans serving us. If Jehova spoke to me right now and told me that I could only visit one beer spot before being condemned, I would choose Weihenstephaner.

If you have a few hours stopover at Munich aiport, this is the place to go. Great food, the full range of beers to drink there or take away.

I stopped in on the way to Munich, a nice walk from the train station. The restaurant is very nice, traditional bavarian specialties, and all the different Weihenstephan beer styles available fresh from the brewery.

I used to go here a lot when I was in Munich often. They have been brewing beer here since the year 725 making it the oldest brewery in the world. Here, in the middle of the campus of the Chair for Brewery Technology and in the immediate vicinity of the world’s oldest brewery you will also find yourself at the veritable origin of beer. A meca for beer lovers for sure. Food and fun for all.
