Love it. Great ‘biance in the Bavarian beer garden. Service is average plus. And the beers, need I say? In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last 1000 years, they’re banging. Fresh and tasty. Prices average, food good, not too touristy/gimmicky.

Nice biergarten on the hill, adjacent to the brewery. If I recall correctly there was nowhere near 11 taps, we got Vitus from the bottle. I'd say 3 or 4 taps and same amount of bottled beer. Of course the quality is high. We didn't eat and there was self service for beer. Classic place and therefore worth checking out.

Restauracja z ogródkiem piwnym. Wybór z browaru, jedzenie niezle, ceny jak na Niemcy przystepne. Obsluga niezla

This is both a large but cozy restaurant and a Biergarten. I have been outside the last couple of visits. Unfortunately the view from The Biergarten is towards the north where you mostly see a parking lot, for the more more spectacular southern take a walk through the massive Weihenstephan buildings to the gardens on the other side. Cozy small but fairly busy Biergarten which is one of the few places you can get the unfiltered Weihestephan Pils.

Visited on the 19th May 2019 - visit of the Biergarten near to the brewery. Nice and pleasant Biergarten. Peacefull atmosphere and very friendly place. For the service you need to pick up brevages and food directly at the office. Menu and all details available in english, staff is speaking well english. Beer selection is fresh Weihenstephaner. Food available, I only tried the bretzl. Highly recommended in the summertime.

Nice, big restaurant on a hill by the university. Nice decor, and fun vibe. The waitress was singularly worthless. Somehow, she claimed they were out of the beer tasting, but still had all three of the beers in the tasting on tap. After I finished my last beer, it took 30 minutes for her to notice so that I could ask for the bill, and another 30 minutes after that to actually pay. I understand that restaurant customs are different in Europe, but it was maddening to sit for an hour with no food or drink, just waiting. Still the beer was lovely, and the food was very good. Still, this was a disappointing experience.

I visited here on Friday 16th November 2018, (my fiftieth birthday) I was on my own as Loz was working today. Getting here is quite easy as it is a straightforward walk up from Freising. I walked up via Weihenstephaner Berg and returned via Oberer Schlangenweg which appeared to be a nice well used footpath. Whilst not so high up here, it is however sufficiently elevated to afford some great views of the town and surrounding countryside. Once at the site, there seemed to be a mix of new and old buildings in this complex, lots of students milling about and the signage wasn't great, though perhaps that might be because I deviated from my route. So working out exactly where I needed to get to wasn't as obvious as I'd hoped. I eventually saw a few tell tale pointers that indicated where the brewery was and then saw that the brewery tap was just sat above it. Inside it was wood everywhere, I'm guessing it's quite old, mostly panelling but it was a nice place. There was some merchandise behind glass, beer packs, clothing, glasses etc, but I never saw a gift shop or obvious signs of where you would purchase them, I know that there was a brewery shop near the brewery itself as I visited there, however it didn't appear to sell all of these items that I could see here, so I suspect that if something took your fancy you'd just need to ask a member of staff. I joined an older couple and a chap who was on his own, we were all on a shared table. I had a glass of the unfiltered pilsner which is only available here. I am guessing that this room was more for those drinking and some food. There appeared to be other rooms for more formal dining options. The female staff member was ok but could have been a bit friendlier. It was pleasant enough here but not sure I would rush back. *18th March 2022 - It's funny going back and revisiting old ratings. The rating ?? above was prior to moving here, in fact at that point I wasn't even aware that this would become one of our local breweries and closest main town. We've been here many times, the beer is excellent, food is very good and location is great. The service is pretty good but occasionally some of the experienced staff could be a little more smiley and a little less jobsworthy. We like the vaulted brick Stephans Keller off to the left. This place is deservedly popular and a wonderful place to have in Freising, that said the new kid on the block 'Freisinger Augustiner' beats it for ambience and atmosphere and I suspect that place and Wirtshaus Weißbräu Huber will always be the more popular places with the locals and here will cater more to out of towners and tourists, but again I will repeat the beer here is superb and considering the range available, with pretty much no duds, it's nigh on unbeatable for a single brewery offering.

Large place with a Biergarten on top of the Weihenstephan hill. Traditional interieur, traditional service, large portions (I struggled to finish the Brotzeitbrettl), and super tasty Hefeweizen as well as an unfiltered Pils that is only served here. I enjoyed my stay here!

Visited in 2014. Sat in biergarten, self-service without additional value. Actually, I was quite disappointed by whole experience, because went there in search for draught Vitus and Korbinian, and they were - to my surprise, damn, this is THE place - only available in bottles. Maybe things changed, I hope so, but a few years ago it was an embassy which represented brewery in not the brightest light.
