Visited during a pit stop on the way to St. Louis for RBSG 2014. Pretty standard liquor store appearance inside, beer is mostly on the left side of the store on shelves and in coolers. Notables included Prairie, Three Floyds, and Hoppin’ Frog. Checkout service was friendly and did a good job packing my haul of bombers and six packs into a box. Okay if you’re passing by or on a pit stop like in my case.

Stopped by here shortly after they opened on a Tuesday morning with my good friend Callipalegic. My mission: to buy an assortment of local singles that I have not rated yet. Easy dedicated parking off the street. Walking in, it looks not much different than every other big liquor store you’ve ever seen. Big open warehouse-type feel to it, bright fluorescent lighting, etc. Beer has a dedicated area on the left side, occupying about maybe 20% of the total space -- clearly liquor and wine is the specialty, here, not beer. There was a long row of shelves containing many import and local bombers, and across from that, a row of coolers containing many different six-packs. The singles offering was disappointingly limited. It’s not a "thing" here, but they will begrudgingly break up a six-pack for you if you just want one bottle. I’m not kidding about begrudgingly. Don’t expect to leave here with a case of singles, they made it clear that they really didn’t like breaking up six-packs. They then take the rest of the six-pack and put it in a very small single bottle section that occupies 2 shelves in a single cooler. I pushed my luck and pulled about 3-4 different singles from 6pks, and took a couple unrated things from the existing singles shelf. The only thing really interesting I found was a Sun King Fistful can and some kind of Swiss coconut stout, all in all I ended up leaving with far less of a haul than I expected to. I was a little skeptical about how fresh everything was, and avoided the shelf stuff. A couple of the singles I pulled from the cooler did not taste fresh, but these local Indy brewers don’t date their bottles, so what can you do... Overall, as the top-rated beer store in Indy, I was pretty underwhelmed by this place. Surely there’s something better in town..?

Place is located a distance from the interstate corridor, so be prepared to stop at several lights along Keystone. The store has a nice selection of cold and warm beers. Service was very good. Wanted a case of Southern Tier Oak Aged Unearthly. All they had was the loose beer in the cooler. They checked in back before casing all the loose beer in the cooler and then brought it up to the front for me. I always go to this store when I’m in Indy. Note: will probably change this comment and add more details when I visit the next time. I had to lower their rating. Before I visit this place I always go to their website to see what they have in stock. The last two times they said they had beers in stock but when I got there they were either mislabeled or nonexistent. Clerk really dodged my questions both times. I won’t be shopping here again.

Best selection i saw in indy. Lots of imports, lots of locals, etc. very knowledgeable staff. Grabbed some 3f bottles and some sun king osirus. Prices comparable with the various crown locations around town.

Great selection here, and you don’t have to dig to find what you’re looking for; but you may have to dig deep to pay for it all, because there are too many good choices. This means paradise to the beer hunter from the South, where midwest beer, particularly some Michigan breweries: New Holland, Dark Horse: Indiana brews: all including the venerated Three Floyds; to rarities like Boulevard, Prairie Artisan to the far-flung Anchorage can be found here. The help was pleasant and present. A joy to deal with. Walked away with some excellent beer, wishing I could spend more and looking forward to next visit to Indy!

Visting indy from out of state. Open shop with high celings and a fairly big area. Has a big wine and liquor selection with some cheeses. Nice beer selection of singles, bombers, 4, 6, 12, and 24 packs. Some dated Belgian brews that age well. Local brews together in same cooler with some options whent it came to 3 floyds. Deals are on the floor in between bomber shelf and coolers. Nice shop...wish I could have spent some more time in but I was kind of rushed.

Good selection with some hard to find stuff. Try this place before you go to any of the Crown Liquors.

Stopped in here after striking out at the Crown downtown. The selection was vastly superior here and the space makes way more sense. Price is roughly the same as Crown but for whatever reason, there is just a better vibe going on here. Not sure if the staff knows what’s going on but the clientele seemed beer savvy. Pretty rad store.

I go to both Kahn’s locations if I’m in the need for a good beer. Good collection of imports and sours. Sometimes they will let you make a custom six pack. Staff has always been willing to assist and will put beers on hold for you. They’re not ALWAYS knowledgable, but put forth effort. Average prices.
