“Passing by with the car and turn back and stopped over. The brewpub looks nostalgic and the prices are very reasonable here and you can take bottles home. Excellent location in the enclave/exclave village of Baarle. Obvious only their own beers are for sell, but they are good.“

“What can I say. This is one of my favorite breweries ever. I liked coming here before they moved (such friendly people), and when they opened the new place it was sheer heaven, with all of their important beers on tap. Haven't been there since but wouldn't hesitate when in the neighbourhood. Top prices in their shop.“

“One of the better smaller brewery taprooms: still equipped with just a few taps (3-4) but with friendly staff and a shop where they sell all the current beers including the one-offs and barrel-aged ones. Every time we pass nearby we stop here for a beer and a box of bottles. “

“Nice store in a nice town with a strong focus on Belgian beers. Found some nice ones from Boulevard, Rodenbach en Tilquin. But not much real rare stuff overhere. Good prices though.“

“Eenvoudig en kleine lokatie, enigszins afgelegen van de drukte in Baarle-Nassau/Hertog. Alles ziet er nostalgisch uit maar is al met al enigszins beperkt. Keuze is beperkt maar in elk geval voldoende. Volgens de eigenaar wordt er binnenkort verhuisd naar een grotere lokatie waar tevens een terras bij komt.“

“Nice place to find good Belgian beers at affordable prices. The selection is big but I am not sure if they renew it since I only went there once. But definitely a place to return.“

“I arrived at the location before the closing time and while I was looking if the place was a private house or the brewery/shop a lady came out closing the door before her and went away. She even didn’t look at us. I tried to call her but she got in the brewery van and avoiding us she drove away. Unpleasant, unfriendly and rude I must say.“

“We visited the shop (the brewery moved earlier this year) in October 2014. Ronald (the owner) was very friendly and helpful. All their beers were in stock except for La Renaissance but there was more stock at the location of the brewery and I could come over on the day after (Sunday morning, store is closed then) to get some. Thumbs up for making that possible and keeping that personal touch. This is why I love Baarle.“

“Very good selection with some rel surprises . No whales, but just cool stuff . Prices are very nice . Service is OK . selection contains mostly ( only ? ) Belgian stuff . Signs are confusing, stating 300 , 700 , and 800 bottles . Its probably somewhere in between .“

“Visited 12/2013. A great, never-to-be underestimated cross-section of Belgian classics, especially well-equipped when we were there on lambics from Hanssens, De Troch to the whole Bacchus range, including some Boelens novelty creations and seasonals, but no real niche specialties like Fantôme, De Ranke or Jandrain. Oddly did not stock the local Dochter vdK Extase, while its more expensive NL/B/NL competitor 300m down the other side of de Biergrens did. Value on par with Geers for most staples. Semi-warehouse style with ditto service, wholesale indifference, quick to tell you to make way. Would recommend the detour when the NL-B border needs to be crossed anyway in either direction: why not pass it 4 times within one mindfuck of a lilliput enclave and have liquid souvenirs to last you a few weeks?“

“Tasting room attached to the house of the brewer (looked like the restroom was just the family’s one). The room looks like a former garage in which some old furniture in there. But that is exactly the charm of the place. We just went there for a couple of drinks and didn’t have anything to eat. The beers were great and the owner very friendly. What did surprise me is that he didn’t have all of his beers refridgerated, which really limited the selection of what we could taste.“

“This small brewery is attached to a house with a tiled tap room in what was probably once the garage. Our visit rounded off the day of the RBESG “Crossing Borders” tour wonderfully. The brewer was exceptionally welcoming and generously laid on what was perhaps the best barbeque food I’ve ever had, accompanied by some really excellent beers from De Dochter van de Korenaar and Oersoep. You can also buy bottles here at bargain prices. (Visited 28 June 2013).

As an aside, I find the village of Baarle-Hertog fascinating. It’s part Belgian and part Dutch, with the little piece of Belgium surrounded entirely by the Netherlands. The location of the front door determines which country a house is in and therefore where the occupants pay their taxes and go to school. The house numbers all have either a Belgian flag or a red blue and white design to indicate their nationality. Apparently there are two police forces, two ambulance services, two fire departments and so on. Sensibly, the roads are maintained by the Dutch authorities but the costs are shared. As an indication of this friendly integration, the brewer at De Dochter van de Korenaar is Dutch although the brewery is officially in Belgium. “

“Located in like a shed or garage attached to the house of the brewer. Old wooden furniture inside with bathroom tiles to the walls. Was here for RBESG 13 and had a wonderful BBQ together with lovely people and stunning beers. Absolute must visit when within a 100 km range. And the pricing of the bottles is just outrageous (cheap that is) :-)“

“Visited during RBESG 2013. Great place kind of in the middle of nowhere. Looks like an old garage that has changed into a brewery. We had a few beers and a great BBQ. Ten of their own beers were for sale, and the prices were incredibly low for beer with this quality.“

“Great selection of beers. Many seasonal offerings. Always some special offers available. Very good value, you can still pick up a Trappist beer for less than €1.00 per bottle. Be sure to double check your receipt though. You may be (accidentally) overcharged for example for a case instead of a single bottle.“

“Another friendly place to visit. Came here while the brewer was fully busy with brewing a new beer and all the used malts where in some kind of open container in the middle of the entrance. Had a chat with the brewer about his beers and even got to taste the new Vanilla Stout he is brewing, of course it’s rough and needs more time, but it was already surprisingly tasty. Bought some bottles, again guess they are pretty normal to cheap priced and only beers from this brewery. Got some of the stuff that is difficult to get elsewhere. Interior is small and cosy, the brew installation looks very nice and clean. Service is very good and friendly! Again, when in the neighborhood, make sure to visit. Left with a big smile!“

“Located on one of the bigger streets, easy to find. A big board outside says this store has 300 beers. I guess this store has a little bit more than 300 beers. Anyways, a nice selection of (I guess) only Belgian beers. Got some Cantillons here as well as some from Oud Beersel, De Troch, Hanssens, Dochter van de Korenaar, etc. Prices are pretty cheap and there’s some stuff from microbreweries that I’ve seldom heard of. Service is ok and all by all a store I think of to go back once in the neighboorhood. When close to this place make sure to plan a visit!“

“Update: Over time this developed into my go-to place for the Saturdays. I really like the atmosphere and the owner/brewer is a great guy who makes brilliant beers. He makes a more than decent selection of beers and the Belle-Fleur IPA is a beer I could drink every day.

The tasting room isn’t too big, quite cosy, and never really busy unless there is a group. Ronald, the brewer, can talk very passionate about beer and share some special brews from his own cellar.
His price setting is more than reasonable for the quality of the beers he makes. Open only on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

I’d recommend this to everyone!“

“Should we rate this here? It’s a brewery where you can buy their beers in a little shop. You cannot sit en drink and they only sell their own (few) beers. But those are certainly worth while. And the guy was absolutely friendly. Gave me and my friends a tour of his brewery with lots of stories accomponied.“
