TorbenJensen (2045) - Valby, DENMARK - MAR 2, 2024UPDATED: MAR 2, 2024 A very tasty porter with an emphasis on good English licorice. In the beginning, it has fine notes of caramel which are slowly replaced by an increasingly rich taste of English licorice, which also delivers a little coffee and dark chocolate to the taste. I try hard to look for Christmas in this porter, because with the name Dark Christmas (that's the name my bottle is sold under) I would expect some typical Christmas flavor notes. Only at the very end a bit of dried fruit, which I mostly recognize as prunes, emerge in the taste and a hint of figs wander past in the mouth. So the name is certainly not misleading and there will be a little Christmas atmosphere in the living room here on one of the first days of spring. It is well brewed and flavorful.
