UPDATED: APR 11, 2024 On tap at As Is. Pours dark brown to black. Biscuit, brandy, prune, fruit and nut Cadburys, leather, biscotti, almond bitters, vanilla, little booze. Gorgeous soft body. Excellent.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2024 Bottle. Pours clear chestnut, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is dark sugars, toffee, vanilla, bourbon. Flavor is light plus sweet, light plus bitter. Medium body. Pretty nice.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2024 Draught at Gourmet Haus. Pours deep brown with small brown head. Massively complex aroma and flavor. Leads with roast, and adds chocolate and slight caramel.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2024 12oz bottle from Boise Co-op. I look forward to this every year. Dark brown pour, bubbly ring of tan head. Malty, woody aroma with notes of brown sugar, mint and plenty of bourbon barrel. Taste is sweet, molasses, malty, caramel, bourbon, anise. Gonna let this warm a bit. Happy birthday, FW!

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2024 Bottle. Blackish beer with a tan head. Bourbon aroma with malt, caramel, light chocolate, and a very light wheat note. Chocolate and bourbon flavors with caramel, light coffee, and light dark fruits. Medium-plus bodied. Bourbon and chocolate linger with caramel, light toffee, light chocolate, light vanilla, and light oak. I always look forward to the FW anniversary beers, but this one is a step below previous releases for me. Still good, but not one of the best beers of the year.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2024 On tap at Cap Tap. Pours brownish black with a nice tan head and a light chocolate aroma. There is a full-bodied dark molasses flavor with a heavy-duty chocolate and alcohol finish.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2024 Roast, chocolate and bourbon. Pours black with a few soap bubbles. Some vanilla, a little coffee. Lots of caramel. Bittersweet and boozy finish. A hint of smoke and some of that velvety touch from the merkin. Nice. Tap at Rustico.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2024 Draft at Tap & Bottle. Very dark brown color, pretty much opaque, beige head with good retention. Aroma of dark roast coffee plums dates. Taste is rich and roasty definitely on the sweet side yet a bit vinous. Tasty finisher to a nice session of mostly IPAs

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2024 Draft at Bru Craft. Opaque black pour. Dense ivory foamy ring. Intensely rich and refined. Complex layers of dark malts. Glossy charcoal. Roasted hazelnuts. Toasted coconut. Nice Bourbon notes, not overpowering. Fantastic!
