COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ambershock® is an amber beer produced by way of infusion, with 7.0% alcohol by volume (17.7 Plato degrees). The wort boiling phase is prolonged in this case to obtain a certain caramelizing of the sugars in the wort. Strong, full-bodied and mellow, its marked yet well-balanced malt flavor mainly derives from a special bottle-conditioning process that lasts for approximately 4 weeks. Bear in mind that this is not a refermentation phase caused by adjunct sugar or wort, which happens with Trappist beers. It is an exclusive procedure adopted by Birrificio Italiano® of Lurago Marinone. That is why Ambershock® is only sold in bottles. If it were matured in vats and served on tap, it would have a completely different taste. Bottle conditioning also brings about perfect settling of the yeast, which makes it possible to have a perfectly limpid beer with a strong, bright amber color.

KeefOz (3848) - TARRAGINDI, AUSTRALIA - DEC 26, 2023
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2023 From a bottle poured a translucent brown coppery-red with 5mm of light tan dense foam that diminished quickly to a blotchy cap that laced OK. Carbonation low, average and fine to medium. Aroma subtly of caramel with notes of toffee and dark fruits; alcohol hidden. Taste of slightly sweet caramel and spices with notes of dark dried fruits, berries and toffee; slightly boozy as it warms. Light body. Smooth, crisp and clean with a short finish. Decent enough. At Caffe del Pess, Menaggio, Italy.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2023 0.33l bottle many thanks to Lore. Hazy amber body with a beige head that lasts for a very long time. Lots of caramel malts and nuts in the aroma with notes of orange zest, raisins, grapefruit and even some cherries. Raisins and cherries are stronger in the taste than in the aroma. Caramel shows up in the sip too so as orange zest. There is a generous amount of grapefruit-like and floral hops in the finish. Kind of like a well hopped dubbel but with thicker body. Great one. Wow.

Lore (6867) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 1, 2023
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2023 Beautiful appearance of copalescent reddish dark amber colour and one inch of creamy beige-ish ecru head which lasts for several minutes even in a trappist-style glass; aroma and taste of toffee, toasted rye bread, prune, dried cherry, ripe dark berries, raisins, some nutty slight anise, licorice and resiny hoppy notes; great beer, for sure! I'm really amazed!
