UPDATED: DEC 22, 2023 Nitro pours black with a tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate coffee vanilla and roast. Flavor is medium sweet and mildly bitter, quite chocolatey. Medium full smooth feel. Nice.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2023 11/24/23 - Tallahassee, FL - Market Square Liquors - 500 ml bottle. Deep, dark, sable black pour, slight frothy to the mocha head, fair amount of lacing. Aroma of creosote and black coffee. Chewy flavor, some licorice, black coffee, unsweetened baker's chocolate and just a whisper of the mentioned vanilla. Nice dryness to the mouthfeel.

UPDATED: FEB 28, 2023 Aromas of carob, cacao nibs, silage, and coffee. Very inviting. Flavor matches, with astringent roast and woodsy hops balanced against burnt sugars, followed by hints of licorice and vanilla beans. Complex and balanced, with a significant but gentle hop presence, and seems much bigger than it is. I like that the vanilla is notable but subtle, a harmonious element. Opaque black with a thin brown head. Full body with moderate carbonation and a dry finish.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2022 Light roast taste that has a subtle coffee finish. Lighter stout that has more of a bland taste.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2022 Pours opaque black with light bubbling on the glass. Tan, 3-finger head. Aroma is mostly of vanilla, with a bit of roast underneath. Full-bodied, with a light oilyness. The finish is long and dry. Roasted malt flavor mixed with vanilla. A woody note from the vanilla lingers at the back.

The flavor is absolutely lovely roasty, mildly sweet with just a touch of vanilla. Plenty of coffee & dark chocolate bitterness. Lightly fruity with a nice dry finish. An absolute pleasure

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2022 500ml bottle from Windsor Hy-Vee, in a Pretentious Sequel glass. Aromas of milk chocolate, light roast and toasted barley malt with hints of stone fruit and marshmallow. Pours inky black with nearly 4 fingers creamy tan head with a little light lacing. Flavor is light roast and malted barley on entry, subtly transitioning to chocolate and caramel on the mid-palate, subtly transitioning to a medium long finish of overripe fruit and bitter roast with hints of foresty hops. Full-bodied and mildly roasty astringent. A bittersweet brew with very subtle but satisfying flavor transitions from start to finish. Not complicated but well made. Nicely done Maine Beer Company! UPDATED: DEC 26, 2021 Pours a dark, cola-black, with minimal head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, burnt toast. Flavor follows. Not tasting or smelling the vanilla in this one. Mouthfeel seems a bit thin, though the ABV is pretty low, I guess.
