3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Dark brown/black colour with medium white head.
At first, huge anise and liquorice on aroma. Then comes malt, bread, dried fruit, banana, herbs and hint of mint chocolate.
On taste anise moves more background, as sugary sweetness, dark, dryed fruits and plum comes up more, as well as liquorice. Warming alcohol is there too.
Taste does not quite match to aroma imho, too much dark fruits for me.
Fullbodied, sticky and bit oily mouthfeel with medium, soft carbonation.
In finish there is more sweetness, dark fruits and alcohol.
Leaves behind strange anise/minty/menthol like "freshness" in your mouth.
Fireplace ale, do NOT rush with this :D

Pours a dark brown, almost black, with a tan head. Spicy aroma of licorice, anise, dark fruits, caramel toffee, yeast, herbs. Some alcoholic warming going on. Somewhat oily texture. Very good winter brew.

Shared a 75cl bottle from Delheize (Luxembourg). Pours a very dark brown colour with a thin creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, licorice and alcohol. Average carbonation and a full creamy body but a slick feel. Taste is strange at first, with some sweet notes with resemblances with a liqueur and anise. Not so pleasant. But it gets better at the second sip. Overall, a nice beer but a bit quite heavy. Good for a Christmas night by the fireplace.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
The color of this beer is an opaque brown with a large and creamy off-white head, and the aroma has a strong anise scent mixed with booze. The taste has a slight umami, a slight sweetness, and a touch of sourness, but these flavors balance out really nicely, and the palate combines a creamy texture, medium body, a licorice finish, and a soft carbonation.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle @ home, aged two years. Pours coke-brown with a beige head, nice lacing.
Sweet aroma with lots of toffee. Notes of dried herbs, clove, clementine peel and some licorice. Thereís also fennel and dry wood that balances the sweetness in a very nice way. Some higher alcohols.
Mouth feel is big with good carbonation.
Sweet toffee taste a bit sugary. orange, licorice, grass followed by hints of spruce leaf.
A bit to much alcohol is shining through in the aftertaste, but as for the rest the ending is really nice with moderate dry bitterness balanced by dry sweet fruits, toffee and anise.

Så er der blå Gajol. Meget lakrids og sød, mørk øl. Fin øl.
Mest velegnet til nydelse uden mad. For kraftig lakrids til et måltid.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Reddish brown beer with big thick head on top and lots of lacing sticking to the glass. Ripe fruits, salty licorice, berries and spices in the aroma. Taste has ripe fruits, berries, spices and tannin. In the end there is some bitterness too. Alcohol warms you up. Full body and medium carbonation. This really is for slow enjoyment, but it rewards your patience.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown, big tan head that settles nicely, good lacing. Aroma, malty, yeast, licorice, fennel, vegetables, some alcohol. Taste, malty, licorice, fennel, yeast, vegetables, dark fruits, brown sugar. The aftertaste is really good, with dark fruits, oranges and a sugary candy like taste. Really nice Christmas beer. Oily mouth feel. Soft carbonation.
