Pingaware (214) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 12, 2020UPDATED: MAY 12, 2020 33 cl bottle (BBD 2020-02-09), bought from Wild Beer online store and drunk at home 2020-03-10.
Appearance is a very hazy pale gold with a thick dense white head that lingers a decent amount of time. Moderate amount of carbonation. Not bad - lovely colour and like the haze, want a little more carbonation.
Aroma is a little fainter than I'd like and a touch one note. Floral (elderflower maybe) and lemony with just a touch of white bread. It's nice, but it's a lot fainter than I'd like in every way to its massive detriment.
Taste is a bit better. A honey sweetness up front with a touch of orange, then a small amount of pithy bitterness at the finish with a hint of pepper. Nice, but again a little faint.
Palate is decent. Just shading medium-bodied, nice amount of in-mouth carbonation and a round but refreshing feel. I like.
Overall, every aspect of this is nice, but each one does too little, letting the whole beer down. It's a bit too strong to be a proper session beer, but that's what it most resembles.
