VTHopHead (1513) - Maryville, Tennessee, USA - JAN 18, 2014I love stouts and I love sours... this one blends the best of both. Love this beer... thanks Mark for an excellent showing...
mcox90 (3051) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 21, 2013500ml bottle split 3 ways, courtesy of Vthophead. Pours black/dark brown with a frothy tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, spice, wood and sour fruit. Flavor is chocolate malt with a hint of pepper, a hint of wood & brett. The combination of all the different things going on makes this an interesting brew. It’s a stout, it’s Belgian inspired & it has a sour funk going on. Moderate in body with a good amount of carbonation. Sour, bitter finish. Thanks for bringing this Steve.
AdamChandler (6124) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - APR 10, 2013Picked this up at Hunger Mountain. Can’t remember the price. 500ML slight gusher.
A - 4 finger light brown head, sort of creamy. Okay lacing
S - Smells like Bruery’s Tart of Darkness. Sort of lacto / brett funk and some barley
T - sour start and finish but very light. In the middle, a spicy peppercorn and bready raisin and grape skin taste. It’s interesting.
M - Medium body
O - Interesting experiment. I like it but not something I’d seek out again.
Reynolds314 (3472) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 29, 2013There is a ton going on here and I like it. Tart and nutty with brett funkyness and a peppery spice. Tobacco and more chocolate on the finish which has a shot of oud bruin type tartness.
markwise (5441) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 29, 2013Thanks to jcartamdg for sharing this one. Cheers, Jason! Pours a typical imperial stout color with a tan head. Nose is roasted malts, some dark chocolate, some mild peppers, and some light wood and spirits followed by some funky and mildly barnyardy brett. Flavor follows: it starts off as a nice imperial stout with some wood and barrel notes, but then the brett starts and introduces a new component to the flavor. Medium in body and wonderfully complex. This is one to sit and ponder...
Ernesto987 (6082) - Arizona, USA - MAR 22, 2013Oddly flavored Christmas trees, some Brett flavors, no bourbon, no roast. Weird
