Caramel dominates the aroma, but leaves some room for fruity hops and grains. Hints of honey. The flavor is quite bitter, with sweet honey notes and some fruity hops. Medium body, decent carbonation. The finish is nutty with honey hints, caramel and some fruity hoppy bittering notes. A beer that starts rather boring but turns out quite nice. 110128
Schroppfy (2362) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - MAR 26, 2011Slightly smoky, forested nutmeat, caramel, sharp sourdough bread, sweet maple. Wow, subtle flavors, well intertwined. Head dies pretty quickly and this does have a tinge of sourness. I like that, some won’t. Not too sweet; has the other ranges of flavors to compensate! Aroma is very good, slight spice, lots of brown sugar and forest elements. Lovely reddish color. Ruppaner is a good brewery! Thanks Stefan!
