COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark.  The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character.  Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a softer beast.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2019 650ml bottle. In the cellar for a year and half. Pours black with a thin mocha coloured cap. Smells so goddamned delicious. Cocoa, molasses, milk chocolate, some booziness, burnt sugar, very faint vanilla, and dark dried fruits. Interesting almost port like note up front, molasses, dark malts, black licorice, a faint hint of mint, and mild mineral bitterness that heads into huge chewy roasty malt notes, espresso, dark rye bread, and lots of bitter coffee notes in the huge finish. The perfect beast for this -25C weather.

Pours a jet black with a tan foam head. Aroma is earth, raisin, chocolate, and roast. Flavor is similar, with quite a bit of bitterness. This almost drinks like an imperial black IPA. Lots of carbonation and a smooth finish. This is very good.

Bottle. Black with a tan head that's never less than good coat. Aroma of mocha, brioche, earthy berries - it's nice but makes you wonder whether the softening is going to prove a little much. But no: whilst there is a smoothness that suggests oats and certainly makes it less brash than normal Yeti, the roast and bitter chocolate pull things back towards stern. The raisins I thought I could pick up in the aroma vanish. Tidy bitterness.

Bomber, 2017 vintage. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of dark fruit, dark chocolate, molasses and licorice. Pours dark brown with a thin mocha brown head that has good retention and lacing. Starts with roasted malt, molasses and licorice flavors as well as a very smooth mouthfeel and full body. Finishes very smooth with dark fruit and dark chocolate sweetness with the roasted malt backbone throughout. Excellent variation of the yeti as the oatmeal really smooths it out.
