UPDATED: AUG 23, 2020 Nous sommes très clairement ici sur le haut du gratin des Black IPA. Racée, intenses avec des beaux arômes de café très justement teintés de fruits exotiques, d'agrumes et de résineux. Coup de chapeau donc à la brasserie Mont Salève, on en redemande. En verre, nous sommes sur un brun foncé quasi noir avec une mousse disparate. Le nez est sur un joli cocktail de fruits exotiques, herbes, résineux, café et chocolat. Le chocolat s'estompe à la dégustation mais pour laisser la place à de très beaux arômes de café expresso vifs et intenses. L'amertume est racée dès l'attaque avec en complément du café, fruits exotiques et résineux. La deuxième bouche est de toute beauté, intense, complexe et saillante. L'alcool, à 9 % est impeccable. L’arrière-bouche est intense avec un résineux bien présent et un café qui arrive en rétro. La corpulence est excellente tout comme la longueur avec un final brillant. Je ne m'attendais pas à ce niveau...Total Respect.

Superbe robe noire, mousse crémeuse, abondante et dense. Nez puissant et complexe sur des notes de café, de houblon frais, de gingembre, d’agrumes confits, de fruits mûrs. Bouche à l’attaque ronde et torréfiée tout en gardant de la fraîcheur, de la tension et de la minéralité, longue finale serrée, parfaitement équilibrée. Une superbe bière fin de soirée, à la fois ronde et fraîche. Une bière de plaisir.

Une Ale blonde d’Inde noire impériale.... Sounds weird and is just a hopeless trial to translate this beer style into French. Why? Well, it’s French! And it’s the proof that French brewers are upcoming! The fine, spice grassy hop aroma comines deliciously with the heavy coffee body that reminds me a lot of Baltic Porters. The beer is not perfectly black but shows a blackish brown covered by a nice, stable tan head. The oily texture and the heavy body are nicely balanced by the hop bitterness that ends in a long dry licorice finish.

From tap at Borefts ’14. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma has some roast, chocolate, earth. Taste has a little bit of fruitiness, roast, chocolate and a medium bitter finish. Medium body and carbo.

Black with a beige head, good lacing. Aroma has notes of coffee beans with licorice and some hoppy notes. Flavor is bittery with a good presence of roasted malts. Medium bitterness in the final with good duration.

Overall: very nice Cascadian dark ale, perhaps too heavy harsh and yeasty, but fine.
