UPDATED: OCT 17, 2021 Bottle, from the brewery taproom. Pours deep brown towards black with a small tan head. Aroma: roasted malt, oats, chocolate, dark fruit, light boozy. Taste: moderate sweet & bitter, roasted malt, milk & dark chocolate, brown sugar, dark fruits, oats, little nutty, some booze. Medium to full bodied with light carbonation, creamy mouthfeel.

UPDATED: SEP 2, 2021 Donker, beige kop, ruikt zoet en gebrand, smaakt zoals de geur met een toets koffie. Dik mondgevoel, bijna romig.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2021 330ml bottle that’s been sitting in my parent’s basement. Dark brown. Aroma of prunes, dark malt, raisins and brown bread. Smooth. Nice malty flavours. Not quite as brimming with flavour as hoped, but very pleasant.

UPDATED: DEC 28, 2020 330ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, very small, creamy, beige head, a ring of macropore bubbles remains. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, dark cocoa, a touch of praliné. Taste is bitter, roasty and chocolately, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, dark cocoa, some roasty, dark chocolately and hoppy bitterness, oaty overtones; lingering, bitter, minimally warming, alcoholic finish. Oily-creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, fine and soft carbonation. Rather simple, chocolately and bitter - OK.

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2020 Butelka do 30-01-25 Czarne, delikatnie przebłyskujące na brzegach, piana beżowa, drobna, dość szybko redukuje do cienkiej ale trwałej obrączki. Dość gęste, powoli spływa po szkle. W aromacie głównie czekolada, deserowa oraz praliny z likierem czekoladowym. Potem wychodzą nuty kawy zbożowej. Umiarkowane ciało, oraz słodycz, w smaku zaznaczonone owsiane słody, nieco paloności i wytrawności na finiszu. Nasycenie niskie. Lekko rozgrzewa, ale też zaskakująco szybko się pije. Proste, łatwe i przyjemne...

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2020 The aroma of burnt grain, a crust of dark bread. A dark, absolutely impenetrable beer with a little foam around the glass. Black coffee, brown bread crust on the palate. Small to medium body with low carbonation.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2020 Bottle at home, cellared this one for 8 months. Pours jet black with beige head. Nose is chocolate, cocoa powder, molasses and booze. Taste is moderately sweet with no bitterness, closing with a slightly dry finish. It shows notes of chocolate, booze, molasses, a touch of cocoa again. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, apart from the lightly dry finish it's nice and silky. Tasty, if a bit one dimensional.

UPDATED: JAN 27, 2020 Bottle bought at Kaapse Brouwers, Rotterdam, Holland. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, hint of coffee aroma and taste. Slight bitterness but a quality tasty Imperial stout.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2019 On tap at De Kaapse, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out dry oats, cocoa powder and a hint of roast. Flavour is rich and hearty, with deep oatmeal, dark cocoa, and low-medium roast. The oats are beautifully situated here. Thick and chewy. Beauty.
