bartlebier (4526) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - MAR 24, 2017
(2016 backlog) 3-pack Lidl’s Maltos Barrique. - Coarsely sweet dunkler Bock barley cassonade in a watered-down suffusion of stewed raisins, dark grape juice and plums. Somewhere an unusual woody tingle distracts from the dull dark sweetness - could be wood, could be hop/extract. Not all bad, but weirdly "luxus for everyone" LIDL-style...

Bov (14982) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - MAR 2, 2017
courtesy of Philipp and Thomas; as Perlenbacher Maltos Barrique Style - light hazy dark brown beer with no head retention; aroma of figs and cola; full-bodied, some sweetness, clean palate, malty finish of prunes and cherries with some residual sugars - interesting

UPDATED: NOV 28, 2016 Aus der Flasche getrunken (geschenkt bekommen)- Version von 2016. In der Nase malzig. In Nachtrunk süßlich-alkoholig. Zum Betrinken reicht ein Tripack.

ALIBALI (4265) - Kiel, GERMANY - NOV 4, 2016
Unausgegoren. So gar nicht fassig und eigentlich nur mittelmäßig doppelbockig. Der Nachhall zu aufdringlich säuerlich und alkoholisch. Na ja. 0,33 Flasche von Lidl in Flensburg für wenig Mark...zum Glück.

Blueshawk (463) - Bad Bellingen, GERMANY - SEP 8, 2016

Zlotta (8953) - Hagen, GERMANY - AUG 25, 2016
0.33 l bottle from local ’LIDL’ as ’Perlenbacher Maltos Barrique Style’, best before March 2017. Clear, very dark red with a thin, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, a little fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins, plums and a touch of oak. Sweetish-malty, moderately fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins, plums and slight hints of oak, followed by a rather long, slightly bitter, medium warming-alcoholic and a little vinous finish. Medium body, slightly oily and a little effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite nice, but not that deep, a bit too alcoholic and slightly unround as well.

lebermilz (554) - GERMANY - AUG 18, 2016
As Maltos Barrique Style. Dark brown, beige dense head. Fruity, caramel. American hops. Sweet, moderate bitterness. Nice, but I couldn’t define the beer style. Imperial Amber something.

Trübes braun mit wenig Schaum. Malzig, süßlich, fruchtig, etwas Sherry, leicht holzig, alkoholisch.
