cmacklin (4255) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 18, 2020UPDATED: FEB 18, 2020 500ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a medium, creamy, long lasting, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of toasted bready malt, caramel, honey, orange and floral hops. Sweet flavour of toasted bready malt, caramel, toffee, honey, orange, apricot and floral hops in a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Enjoyable, well balanced and easy to drink.
Jabic (983) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - SEP 1, 2018Draught. Ar: Dry biscuit and peppery hops; some dried pineapple and marmalade. Ap: Copper-orange, crystal clear; medium tight tan head with good retention, slowly receding into a cap of finely bubbled foam. T: Richly biscuity malt; low sweetness; pineapple, marmalade, and a little blackcurrant; medium bitterness, with some black licorice hop flavor; earthy caramel; finish is biscuit and bitters. P: Medium-light body, firm; medium-high carbonation; dry finish. O: A very enjoyable ESB; malt flavor, sweetness; and hop taste are spot on; perhaps a bit too aggressive on the bitterness, but that is only a small ding.
Nurmis (3051) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - APR 16, 20180,5l bottle. Pours dark amber with white lacing. Caramel malts, flowery hops. Certainly not bad, but don't see what the fuzz is about.
Tranquillity (3946) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 13, 2018Titled. Hazy orange body, small beige head. The aroma has sweet raisins. The tatse is funky seeet too, with a nice bitter orange at the end.
azzurro (2401) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 10, 2017As an ESB, this would probably be my reference. Another success from this micro. Impressive. Nice balance of taste and aroma.
Ljus (872) - Quebec, CANADA - NOV 3, 2017UPDATED: MAR 9, 2018 Apparence : Acajou, translucide, carbonatation élevée, gros col blanc cassé, belle dentelle.
Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 28, 2017Slightly veiled dark amber color with moderate activity. Soft creamy beige 2 finger head, lasting around 5-10 minutes, with dense lacing but faint legs. Flavors of caramel, nutmeg, ginger, roasted grains, lemon, yeast, herbal spices. Bread and toffee sugary feel, with sharp zesty fruity that balance things out. Slick milky medium body with crispy and prickly carbonation. Medium strength finish, quite long, deeply malty and roasted, pleasant burnt caramel, with lingering leafy and citrusy hops. Interesting creamy density (a trademark for La vache folle?), still nicely fresh, with some sharp yeast. Quite tasty and filling, but uplifting like a Belgian. Overall very good quality craft. A robust ESB, heavily spiced and probably too much, not as delicate and pleasant compared to the Fuller’s.
bunget (1251) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 18, 2016Bottle. Clear copper body, small to medium beige head with good retention and lots of lacing. Classy aroma of roasted nuts, caramel, flowers, bread and cheese. Taste of caramel malt, herbs, bread and some citrus notes. A tad oily, flat and chewy. Excellent.
