UPDATED: JAN 3, 2020 This is a backlog rating from 2012 from a bottle shared by Tmoney99, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are pale malts, blueberry fruit character, watery, some sweetness.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2019 It's got a great blueberry taste great pleasant Brew. Really it's summertime beer extremely light you can give it to someone that doesn't drink and they be able to get one down. Grape blueberry aftertaste. It's just super light and has a bit of a Seltzer feel which is okay I guess.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2019 Original Review 3/23/2011: Have only had maybe 4 or 5 blueberry beers, but this is the best one. Can't wait to buy a 6-pack to get the full effect. Not overwhelming of fruit, but the taste is there and the rest of the beer is smooth and crisp. The old blueberry wheat from Sea Dog was my choice before this, but this is more of a clearer pilsnery version which IMO works better. May be a bit pricey @ $10/six for only 4.3%, but only live once and worth the extra buck or so.

Bottle. Sweet blueberry aroma with notes of crackery malt and grassy hops. Pours clear, pale golden colored with a thin off white head that has good retention and excellent lacing. Starts with sweet blueberry flavors as well as some crackery malt. Finishes smooth with grassy hops joining the blueberry sweetness. Ok, but one sided.

25-08-2018; bottle; at home (bought online at www.drankgigant.nl, Oost-Souburg, The Netherlands). The looks of the beer are that of a fine Pale Lager. With a pale golden yellow color and crystal clarity the looks aren't that special. The beer bubbles lively. On top of the beer a thin layer of very rough almost immediately collapsing beer is formed. Not to special The smell of the beer is pretty intense. Upon opening the beer a clear and strong aroma of blueberry can be smelled. It is a very natural blueberry aroma. Not a artificially added aroma. Sweet, fruity and quite nice. Very special, since I've never had a blueberry beer before. Besides blueberry there are some sweet malts and some slightly herbal hops, although the hops don't give that much smell. The blueberry is most prominent. The taste of the beer is rather simple, slightly boring even. Some sweet malts, some bitter hops and the blueberry isn't that strong in the taste. It is balanced, but a bit simple. The palate of the beer is fine. Light body, sticky texture and high carbonation. The finish is pretty nice. There are some clear blueberry notes there, exactly the same as those present after eating real blueberries. All in all, a fine beer. Very simple base of Pale Lager with a very nice, interesting and natural addition of blueberry. Nicely done.

pdog555 (2001) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 5, 2018
UPDATED: AUG 5, 2018 Immediate aroma of blueberries as the beer is opened. Pours amber with a hint of color and a nice head. Lots of carbonation. Tastes like a plain old ale. Palate contains incredible blueberry notes, very sweet and a different type of blueberry sensation than is usually present in a blueberry ale. Blueberry is well layered so that it is only noticed on the nose. Crisp mouthfeel.

355ml bottle. Clear golden colour with small, frothy, fading, white head. Initially rather intense blueberry aroma proves to be ephemeral, rather standard pale ale flavours of citrusy hop and biscuity pale malt remain. Taste is pale malty and slightly citrusy hoppy, only cautious hints of blueberry. Nice but quite anaemic overall.
