Beese (17142) - Tooting, London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 3, 2020 500ml bottle from Tesco, Watford and drunk on 23/01/2006. A nice, slightly peppery hopped golden ale with a decent depth of flavour. Young’s did some nice lighter beers just prior to their demise.

Alengrin (11018) - Gent, BELGIUM - SEP 14, 2014
Old school English bitter made with hops from the famed Kew Gardens; the profits are invested in the protection of endangered plant species, so this beer immediately gained my sympathy. Amber coloured bitter with soft caramelly and nutty malt sweetishness, dried fruits and spicy hops in the finish, well balanced.

Embrouille (2879) - SWITZERLAND - OCT 19, 2008
Bottled 50cl. The taste is of lime, grapefruit and blueberries accompanied by hops and malt. Medium bitterness. Poor lacework. Not all that pleasant. Medium bodied. White bread and blueberries in the finish. Different.

A very nice beer put out of action and now replaced with a more golden bottle conditioned effort. This was maltier, fuller in flavour and with a lovely nose! Missed.

Bottle. Amber colour with an off-white head. Fruity aroma with hops & caramel. Light hoppy flavour with a note of apples. Quite nice.

Maria (10208) - Thisted, DENMARK - APR 1, 2007
Deep, warm golden color and a nice lasting head, and good lace. The aroma is alluring and very aromatic and hoppy. The flavour is full of nice hoppy notes, and there is a fine bitterness in the first part of the mouth, a fruity smoothness on the palate and later there is a naughty bitterness way back in the mouth. A nicely hopped and delicious ale, the has gone the extra mile the make it rise above the rest...

chriso (7540) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2007
500ml bottle, from Sainsburys. Hazy ginger colour. Tropical fruit aroma with some underlying fruity malt. Sharp grapefruit and lemon flavour with a bitter back note. The hops impart a distinctly oily "hop juice" character. There’s an overall bittersweet feel to this beer but it retains a smooth and mellow countenance. I quite enjoyed it. Not sure it has survived the move to Bedford.

ekstedt (8338) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 9, 2007
Bottle. Clear copper colored, medium off-white head. Typical Youngs malt profile, with earthy, grassy hops. A moderate bitterness in the finish.
