from Doctor Hop, Le Havre - black beer with a nice foam; roasted licorice and a bit mineral aroma; medium-bodied, tasty, light sweet and fairly bitter; nutty and roasted finish with notes of black cherries

Bottle 33 cl at La Trappist, Caen, on March 22, 2017. At a cost of €8.50. BB date on cap that I didn’t get to see.
Black color, big lasting off-white head with lacing. Hoppy, herbal, roasted scent. Roasted, hoppy, herbal, leafy taste. Roasted, herbal hoppy, bitter aftertaste. Some resin. Medium full mouthfeel, medium to medium high bitterness.

Bottle, sample (20cL). @Festibiere Clermont (4/8). A pitch black beer with a medium beige head ; medium retention ; good lacing. Hoppy aroma, citrus, herb, pepper, red berries, roast. Medium to heavy dry bitter, refreshing, light sweet. Medium body, thin texture, average carbonation, hoppy dry bitter finish. Overall, a very good one ! Nice hoppy character, nice fruity character and bitterness.
