A dark ale with a light refreshing palate. Northwestern hops are utilised to accentuate the aroma and are well balanced with a combination of North American malts expertly blended to create a truly drinkable and flavourful brew.

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2021 Poured from the tap (ABV listed as 4.8%). Dark mahogany with small off white head. Mild toasted nuts. Fine, but boring.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2020 Keg at Steamworks Brewery, Vancouver, BC on 12/09/2008. Mistakenly jotted this down as a Steamworks Beer, but I guess it was a guest tap. Actually quite good for a cream ale; not too sweet and with a bit more malt driven body than most.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2018 Easy to drink but not a lot to this. Don't get the dark cream ale vibe as well - I guess that's why it's listed as a mild? Pours dark brown with ok head and lacing. Fairly clean finish like like you prerinsed the plates in your dishwasher. Tap at brewery.

Draft - Dark malts and a touch of toast. Deep mahogany with a decent white head. Dark residing and some toast with a light bitter finish. If the ABV were lower this would be better.

Pours clear medium amber with one finger of off-white head diminishing rapidly to a tenacious cap, patchy lacing. (3/5) Nose is caramel, bready yeast, nutty, faint chocolate, smoke, and vinegar. (4/10) Taste is moderate sweet, mild bitter, light tart and smoke. (4/10) Light to medium bodied, lively to moderate carbonation, mildly bitter tart and smokey finish. (3/5) What are the odds of me getting two broken BC beers, from two different brewers, and two different sources, in one day? When I say “broken”, I mean in terms of hitting the style, not necessarily in terms of drinkability. As drinkability goes, it’s not bad - a very lightly smokey sour, almost like a gose, or a mild sour brown. As a “cream ale”. it’s an utter disaster. Dunno how to rate this - I’d rather have it than a macro lager, but not by much. (9/20)

A thin, tan head disappears quickly. It’s a dark, caramel brown. It has a slightly malty nose and provided a surprisingly robust initial sip, but it doesn’t last long with you. There’s a biscuit-like maltiness to the flavour. It’s not bad, but there’s nothing exceptional about it. The alcohol content on the bottle I had was 4.8%.

bottle. Poured reddish-brown with a thin tan head. Malt aroma, rye bread. Medium-light bodied with low carbonation and a slightly sour finish. Flavour of toasted malt, oaky, spicy hops. Lingering finish.

Poured from bottle, can from BC craft mixer pack. Murky brown, with slight redness. Small thin head that disappeared quickly. Sweet malt aroma, with nut, and caramel. Same flavour, but quickly turns almost sour. Medium mouthfeel, but seemed very flat. Hardly any bitterness, but that sourness is hard to swallow.

Well sweet baby Jesus, if this beer just ain’t broken. Honestly, just imagine -- you get your beer stuffed into a 6 pack sampler that’s catapulted to Ontario & of all the beers in the box yours is the worst. How bad is it? Read the reviews below. This beer is 28 Days Later infected, the pour dumps toxic dark with no head. The smell is vinegar & the taste is awful. This beer is bad & judging by the reviews here its chronic. Someone owes me a beer. Drain pour. Avoid (give to your brother or father in law etc).

When I drank this, I didn’t think it was a Mild. More of an amber ale. Brownish red with an beige lacy head. Smells of caramel with soft toffee, floral hops, and some chocolate raisin notes. Medium thin light body. Light taste of alcohol with a soft earthiness, roast, caramel and some metallic notes. Light for a mild. A bit boring
