You have to breath deep to get the rich chocolate malts and coffee. Pours dark black with minimal head. Sour bitter coffee upfront with the rich coffee lingering on the back of your throat. I’d have again. Tap.

Pours a deep dark brown with a nice tan head. Choclate/espresso aromas. Tastes just like it smells, deep coffee and chocolate flavors. Excellent!!!

Draft at the Irish Pol. Opaque black pour with solid light brown froth. Cold mocha. Smooth dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Hints of charcoal, leather and cigarettes. Grand aroma, even when cold. The oatmeal thickens the body quite well. Looks good, tastes good - but missing some of the extraordinary notes that bring the greater stouts to a higher level. Still well worth trying!

Bottle from inane D. Pours black with no head. Big roasted coffee aroma. Taste is lots of coffee with a nice chocolate finish.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2015 Pours dark black with a slight tan head. A very strong aroma of coffee. It smells like old wet coffee grounds. The smell is very overpowering and somewhat off putting. It has a smooth taste somewhat like cold coffee but thinner and not as rich and creamy. Its ok but the smell makes it hard to enjoy the smooth flavors. It wasn’t bad but I don’t think I’ll buy it again.

Intense coffee nose with a hint of chocolate. Taste is strong coffee, chocolate and a little booze. Perfect carbonation and hop bite on finish. Great brew.

Bottle, 2014 vintage sent courtesy of Mike and Sean, thanks guys! Black and oily with a thin layer of mocha head. Aroma is vanilla, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste is coffee roast, vanilla, chocolate, finish is bitter coffee, medium bodied, with medium carbonation. Tasty stuff, lots of coffee.

Loving another great beer from Terrapin, especially since this is an imperial stout! Very rich and smooth as you get the initial tastes of coffee with the after taste of chocolate. Just a great brew.

I had this beer during the Clayton Area Home Brewers meeting at Clayton Beverage Company. This beer had a great coffee flavor without being too roasty

6 pack. Pours black with a fairly dark brown head that lasts. Smells almost like a heavy french roast coffee blend fresh out of the grinder. Tastes like breakfast. You get the bitter coffee taste with that thick oatmeal feel. Nice and bitter on the back end but very smooth. Good job!
