UPDATED: FEB 6, 2022 Finding this beer at the rio getränkmarkt at Muri 'AG'. Opening this bottle two days ago, at Epalinges, preparing our home made pizza at night with my Peruvian family. The body is brown and dark, troubled with an average carbonation, white and brown foam. A classical and well brewed dark lager Bavarian beer. You have smooth notes of malt, bready, toffee, a bit roasted, some classical hop at the final.

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2020 Bière noire aux reflets rouges, elle a une courte mousse crème. Légère en bouche, elle développe un parfum grillé de caramel et de chocolat.

Clear ruby color with nice foam layer. The smell is a tiny bit roasted. The taste is a little watery and slightly roasted. Rather a solid red ale, than a schwarzbier. Solid aftertaste, failed style definition.

Amber color with small white head. Aroma of malts, yeasts, a bit Belgian. Taste is malty, spicy, and dry. Smooth carbonation. Not even bad, quite tasty, just dry.

Schaum ist hellocker farbend, und nicht so üppig. Vergeht schnell! Das Bier hat eine schöne dunkelbraune trübe Farbe. Leicht bittersüsser, sehr angenehmer Geschmack! Schöner aber eher kurzer Abgang!

330 ml bottle. ABV is 5.0%. The colour of the beer is not very "schwarz", more deep reddish brown. Large to moderate off-white head. Pleasant malty aroma, notes of bakery / dark bread and caramel. The flavour is equally nice, dark bread and some caramel again, also some roast malts throughout. The hops are very moderate. Would buy again.

Good name! Bottle thanks to Bruce. It pours deep ruby-brown with a medium off-white head. The nose is earth, wood, caramel, toffee, raisin, fruit cake and a touch of spice. The taste is caramel, light toast, roasted malt, earth, orange, varnish and leather with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Straight-forward and easy drinking.

Bottle at Bruce’s - London. Big thanks to the host! Pours hazy amber with a foamy, tan head. Dry bready malt nose, some dried berries. Light sweet flavor, simple bread, some dry caramel, a bit of toasty dough, hints of berries. Light bodied with fine, fairly creamy carbonation. Sweet finish, some sugary dough, hints of leathery berries. Fine.

Angenehm röstig-malziger Antrunk, der aber durchaus noch etwas stärker sein dürfte. Herb, im Verlaufröstiger, die Malzigkeit ist harmonisch, das Bier ausgewogen. Etwas hefiger Abgang, hier steht das Malz steht hier nur bedingt im Vordegrund, dafür aber die kafeeartigen Noten. Dabei sit das Bier aber etwas zu trocken. OK. 11/9/8/8/5/8
