COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied ale with three types of roasted malt. Beneath the rich tan head is an ale with notes of cocoa, coffee, licorice and a hint of dried fruit. Enjoy Ølfabrikken Stout with BBQ or fried liver. Ølfabrikken Stout is, of course, unpasteurized, unfiltered and bottle conditioned like all of our beers.

Bottle. Exp. 2008. Black no head. Roasted malt licorice. Fine dry balanced taste. Faint tartness in the finish. Heavy body. Well kept brew for age. Miss the carbonation.

motelpogo (7695) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - APR 1, 2012
bottled, without fried liver. rich jet black with a steady light brown head; aroma of creme caramel, asphalt and brownies; rich mouthfeel, plenty of roasted flavours but with rasping, grassy hop character and loads of bitterness; all that richness made it seem much stronger than 6%

Malzig-milder Antrunk, etwas kaffeeartig. Danke an DerDoppelbock hierfür! 13/11/11/12/9/11

From Vignoble, Aarhus Bottled Very balanced with sweetness to the roasted malts - lots of chocolate. Hops are good

Bottle Deep, black body. Lightly brown, small head. Aroma of malts (coffee, chocolate), molasses, hints of liquor, ... Quite nice aroma, not to 1 dimensional for a stout. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Heavily bitter finish, quite hoppy. Strange the aroma isn’t hoppy, but the finish is full of hops (Cascade, German hops). Off course there are also a lot of malts in the flavour. Anyway I would say this is a Stouty IPA. The balance is not totally ok and complexity lacks a bit, but still it is quite ok.

Blom (907) - Sorø, DENMARK - MAR 9, 2008
Bliss, black and beautiful. Hefty aroma of roasted malts, hops, smoke, chocolate and cocoa makes way to a balanced creamy, almost oily palate. Finally the taste is so harmonic, being both sweet with notes liquorice, cocoa, dried fruits and chocolate and at the same time bitter like coffee and american hops.

Bottle. What a beauty to look at. It pours oily and black, with a dense, tan head that’s lasting. I prefer my girls quite pale, but my stouts should be as black as this one, yummy! The aroma is slightly dusty, but mostly roasted and burnt with a nice touch of licorice and chocolate. Some hops in there too. Lovely sweet, yet roasted and dry flavor with licorice, some tar, bitterness, a little coffee, and I think there’s some dried fruits as well. Oily in the mouth, maybe a bit thin, but then it’s only 6% ABV. BTW, it’s not thin, only not as thick and chewy as I expected. It finishes with a lasting, coffee-bitter flavor. Gimme more! (071123)
