COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Coal Black and creamy smooth, this beer holds a light tan head and is surprisingly light in body - so it won’t fill you up. Thomas, WV’s heritage was based on the hard-working Italian coal miners who worked the mines from the 1890s-1940s. The tap handle is the silhouette of a local coal miner’s daughter.

nimbleprop (15430) - Southeast, Washington, Washington DC, USA - AUG 18, 2022
UPDATED: AUG 18, 2022 Pint at the brewery pours a lightly watery, dark brown/black with a cap of fluffy, off white head. Nice roasty nose, burnt toast, grains, some caramel, some earthy soil. Flavor has the toasted grains and balanced with some sweet/chewy oat, dark chocolate, burnt stuff. Maybe just a bit watery to be medium bodied but basically dry. Decent enough.

Mep3222 (3185) - East Greenbush, New York, USA - MAY 15, 2022
UPDATED: MAY 15, 2022 Nice roasted chocolate malt aroma. Aroma is the best part of this. Taste is watery and not full. Slight Smokey to the malt. Ok stout overall but really not that impressive at all.

jb (4671) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAR 1, 2021
UPDATED: MAR 1, 2021 Quite excellent , true to style, gritty, full bodied, a touch of sweetness but a dry finish. Nice and fresh I believe, as the restaurant served all local beers, and all that we had were quite tasty.

Mr.Spooks (4978) - Tennessee, USA - DEC 14, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 14, 2019 Lousy stout, with a fizzy, cola-like feel coupled with pronounced char notes on top of seltzery blandness. Not worth discussing further.

Eructoblaster (8422) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 15, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 15, 2019 Can - 12oz. Pours a black body with average carbonation and a fading, off-white foamy head. Decent malty aroma with chocolate and roasty hints. Its simple, well balanced malty/hoppy aroma carries roasty and some plummy notes. Ends with a sharp roasty finish. Not bad.

kappldav123 (8891) - Nordhausen, GERMANY - DEC 16, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 16, 2018 Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Looks good. Intense malty aroma. Starts intense malty, notes of liquorice, also some herbs. Black tea. Finish milder, still intense malty. Intersting beer.
