COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The 900th brew at Mad Fox Brewing Company! We took our original Batch 100 malt bill for a black barley wine with a majority of imported English pale malt, blended a percentage of three dark malts with a good portion of crystal malt. We then calculated the hopping rate to 80 IBU's with American grown Columbus hops and fermented it all on the legendary Chico yeast strain. We wanted to go big with this one, so it’s 9.6% alcohol by volume lurks in the background while your taste buds dance in delight.

Cask at GBBF 2018, Kensington Olympia. An interesting beer to bail out of gbbf 2018 on. Aroma is so much red wine and really the dry hopping leaves it with a similar dryness.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, decent tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Great condition for a cask barleywine. Fairly thin dark malts, a little spicy licorice. Fruity whiskey boost underneath. Some spice on the dry crisp finish. Light on its toes and very drinkable.

Draft at Mad Fox's 8th Anniversary party. Poured a nearly pitch black color, like very dark cola. Aroma was a blast of heavily toasted malts, sweet caramel malt notes. Some light booze. Dried fruits, light earthy and floral hop notes in this one too. Alcohol is there, but it's pretty well masked.
