COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our take on the classic American brown ale has chocolate notes from pale chocolate malts and oats that are brightened by a healthy dose of citrusy Simcoe and Chinook hops. A dark summer beer really does exist!

Cask at GBBF 2018, Olympia, London, Aug 2018 - Dark brown in colour. Small beige head. Malty; roasty malts, grainy, chocolate, caramel. Hoppy; good hop bitterness, citrusy and piney hops. Fruity; citrus grapefruit. Spicy: peppery. Nice malt/hops balance. Moderately bitter roast malty citrus hoppy throughout. Good. Liked this. (2018-08)

Cask at GBBF '18, day 3, 09/08/18. Murky chestnut brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is pine needle, bitter citric peel, brown bread, light charr, biscuit. Taste comprises dark fruit rinds, pine needle, fruit slice, bitter tropical fruits, nutty, dusty fruits. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close peppered with prominent lightly dankened hop bitterness. Decent cask CDA.

ABV: 5.9%. Hazy - murky matt medium amber colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, moderate hoppy, licorice hops, pine. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, pale malt - dark malt, caramel, licorice hops - piney, fruity hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180809]

The taste is dry, bitter, oily, chewy, earthy, brown bread, tannin, leather, spicy, alcohol sting and stewed black tea. Medium body and fine carbonation. Ok.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Light haze on this deep amber - brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow brown malts, mild earthyness. Mild tangy fruits. Mild ripe citrus and citrus peel. Light semi dry finish. Tidy.

Draught @ Milk & Hops - Chelsea. Slightly cloudy dark brown with with very small frothy off-white head, caramel aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter roasted malt taste, thin body, long finish. Feels heavily roasted, therefore bitter.
