UPDATED: NOV 19, 2014 01/11/2014 : 75 cl bottle from Malts Attack @ home. Rusty colour with small white head. Nose is spicy, herbal. Taste especially spices (orange peel, pepper, ...) , little sweetness, little sourness. One of the strangest brews I ever had, however, liked it.

Soft palate with slight citrus acidity and spice. As it warms the complexity and depth come out, leaving a earthy, resin mouthfeel. I think this saison is quite subtle and is more interesting as consumed.

One of the most classic and authentic saisons, continued by Vapeur after the original brewery stopped its brewing activities in 1984. Warm coppery amber colour and spicy character with citrus touches, lots of actual spiciness, some ’wild’ tartness and herbally hoppy finish. Great and respectable example of its style.

Bottle shared in the car in Belgium - March 2013. Pours clear gold with fine effervescence and a light, white foam head. Tangy citrus aroma with hints of sour wheat, spices, herbs. Light sweet flavor with mellow spices, sour bread, leaves and pine. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Sour tang at the end with notes of orange and tangerine, along with light alcohol warmth. Meh, a bit scattered.

Just arrived at Liquor Shed in Casper. Okay, a big pop and super gush when I removed the cap. Beer everywhere. It pours a rusty murky colour with a 1 finger head of foam. Nice lacing. A strong spicy nose of coriander, clove, bubblegum. Yeast. A very perfumey nose overall. Everything in the smell is in the taste as well as a strong bitter/tartness of lemon zest and apples, It finishes bitter and tart. Long aftertaste. On the low end of medium bodied, the carbonation, well, it’s healthy to say the least. Other than the huge gush, this was very enjoyable.

Een lekkere saison zoals het hoort te zijn. Ik vond het lekker maar drink dan ook wel eens graag een saison

Draught. Golden cloudy orange pour with a medium off white frothy head. Aroma of tangerines, hay, yeast and barnyard funk. Medium to full bodied with a puckering slightly sour finish.

Gusher. Pours a rich orange golden color with three fingers of fizzy white foam. Nose is interesting, some trace acetone with layers of citrus pith, grapefruit juice, musty hay, rotten tangerines. The palate follows the weirdness of the nose but settles into a citrus forward tangerine juice and musty old hay. Actually there are parts of this beer I really enjoy but there is a small part of it that I despise. At the $8.99 price point I think Ill grab a few more and continue this expedition into Saison de Pipaix.

Tasty saison. Has the usual notes of dry grass and hops, but also has a light taste of pepper. Good.

Draught > Mikkeler Bar. Just as it says. Dry and black pepper spicy. This is good. Lots of orange on the nose. Refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
