UPDATED: FEB 15, 2020 Keg at The Shipyard Brewery, Portland, ME on 22/03/2008. A very full bodied IPA, a little more on the malty side, but with fresh floral and grassy hop nose.

Cheers!

Bottle from Daniel.
Pours an average amber with an isopryl alcohol and light whiskey nose. Flavor is malty grapefruit and board. Average mouthfeel. Sink it.

As a somewhat mainstream craft beer Shipyard IPA is OK. The pour creates a small white head. The appearance is lighter in nature than many IPAs. It also has a light haze to it. The aroma has hints of citrus. The taste is an immedaite hop sensation that quickly dissapates. The actual flavor is lacking and I really didn’t detect much of any unique flavor. The aftertaste is a little bitter that subsides after 10 - 15 seconds. I buy an occasional 6 pack when I’m somewhere I cannot get a better IPA.

12 oz bottle shared by djd at the August 2011 tasting. Dark gold and hazy. Nose is musty, older hops. Taste is very bitter, with a mild hop presence. Body is thin. Alcohol burns on the way down. OK but not memorable.

Fruity slightly sweet caramel malt aroma. Slightly sweet taste of malt and hops. OK but nothing special!

Copper-like color with a medium white head. Fruity, hoppy aroma with some toffee. Taste of citrus, fruits, toffee, bread. Not spectacular but quite ok.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma with some hints of caramel. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter flavor with hints of pineaple. Has a dry malty hoppy bitter finish.

Pours light amber color with huge white head. Light fruity hop aroma. Subtle hop bitterness and biscuit malt flavors. Light to medium body with lots of carbonation. More of an English style IPA.

Hazy orange pour with a frothy beige head. Aroma is orange, grapefruit, lemon, and toffee. Taste is a good balance of toffee, citrus sweet and bitter hop but lacks thick malt presence. Also could use more of a hop presence on the finish.
