Scopey	3.7 Elixir Global Bottle at Craig's. Many thanks to the host for this vintage treat. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, spiced, umami, herbal vibes, bready, brioche and toffee. The taste is dry, slick, oily, sticky, umami, earthy, orange peel, peachy, orange peel, spice, herbs, oak and booze with a dry finish. Medium body and fine. Not bad at all. Thursday, August 16, 2018

The aroma is rich roasted malt, tangy, dried fruits, tangy, dried currants, rich fruits, earth, dirty, cocoa and coffee. The taste is smooth, tangy, rich fruits, Irn Bru (or did I imagine that), milk chocolate, ashy, earth, jammy fruits, light spice, touch of alcohol and eccles cake with a dry, fruity finish. Aroma is salty smoked bacon, Frazzles crisps, paprika and general smoke. Body is light, tingly carbonation, a bit foamy. jjsint	3.9 Elixir Benedictine Groove II: Enter The Flagon Bottle from the Bow Bar, Edinburgh. Dark black with a purplish tinge. Some lovely beige/tan head on top. Smells like many of the component parts - I get the tonic wine and smoke very strongly, along with herb garden (lavender and sage?), blackberry and a heady dose of liquorice. Taste is sweet and quite fruity but there’s a tinge of bitterness in the finish. Warming for sure but it doesn’t taste 10%. While I like this, I mean I really like this, I wouldn’t have minded a slight toning down of the much-maligned tonic wine. Tuesday, November 24, 2015
