Taste is mellow malty and yeasty fruity, minimally bitter, grassy hoppy, hints of red berries and caramel, some cherry, cherry bonbon. Watery texture, minimally dry palate, fine, prickly carbonation. ClarkVV	3.7 Hofstettner Original Hochzeitsbier von 1810 Undated canned at B. United, drunk 10/27/23. Clear, glowing amber. Small, butter-colored head recedes quickly to ring. Very bready. Some light hop spiciness, light fruit jam (strawberry and apricot). Breadiness calms down on the finish leaving more fruitiness and base malt. Clean. Earthy and spicy hop notes mix with a very round, borderline syrupy malt. Big depth, fairly sweet but balanced by hop and yeast. Intense and richly malted but mostly balanced. Lingering, light bitterness helps. They certainly did a good job with the mashing here. Pretty Heller bock-like. Friday, October 27, 2023

tontalus	4.1 Hofstettner Granit Bier Das Hofstettner Granit habe ich beim Kalea Online Beertasting verkostet. Es kommt mit mittelporiger, geringer Krone, die wenig Standfestigkeit hat, ins Glas. Die Farbe ist klares Kupfer. Der Geruch erinnert an Kuhstall und Karamell. Anbei ist Stein erkennbar. Beim Antrunk leicht süß und schön getreidig. Gebraut mit Karamalz und Mühlvierteler Hopfen und durch Granitgestein gefiltert. Das kommt nun durch. Trotzdem schön rezent und frisch. Beim Abgang kommt die Bitterkeit perfekt abgestimmt. weizen-slayer	3.5 Hofstettner Mühlviertler Bier Sehr helle, klare Farbe. Interessanter Geruch: Fruchtig / blumig / hopfig aromatisch. Geschmacklich bekommt man ähnliches. Die hopfenbittere, florale Note kommt hier besser raus. Getreide ist ganz klar ein zusätzlicher wichtiger Faktor. Wirklich wohlschmeckend, könnte aber intensiver und gehaltvoller sein. Im Endteil wird es etwas dünn. Auch die gute Hopfung kann nicht verhehlen, dass das ganze insgesamt etwas zu süffig ist.
